MUSIC....

I often like to make pictures with a musical theme. Music has always played a big part in my life and all my family were and are musical. These were all made at different times so all have different styles. I hope you like them.

I had a slow start this morning. I didn't wake up so early and while I was in bed my sister phoned and we chatted for half an hour! Then I had to get the day's medications sorted for myself and Freddie. As soon as I'd finished that, the phone rang again and it was my son, so another chat. He and DIL should be coming over on Sunday for a visit.
After breakfast I went to check emails as I do every morning and had my usual little chat to Coz. Freddie. So by the time I had my shower, remembering everything I do nowadays seems to be in slow motion, Algie was late going out for his walk.

There are still hundreds of visitors about, just strolling or sitting taking in the view. The Quay head is lined with families catching Gilly crabs and I swear the dads enjoy it more than the kids. We must have the best fed Gillys in Norfolk. Lots of doggies for Algie to meet and I think he was in love with one little girl.

Hope you've all had a good day.
Love and smiles,

The same only different...

I tried to see what the same picture would look like with
different treatments.
I was quite pleased with the black and white effect and wouldn't
mind it hanging on the wall.
Thank you so much my dear friends for all your messages and support.
I truly appreciate your friendship and I'm feeling so much better.

Algie and I went to Chapel as usual this morning and he was such a good boy.
When his feet ache and he wants to sit on the foot plate of the
scooter we get so many comments from the visitors.
He also meets lots of little dogs to have a sniff with!

Have a great day.

Change of Style..

Here are three recent collages I've made in a completely different style for me.
There's no vintage look here. Rather a washy painterly effect.
I bought the kit by Eena's Creation, Floral Notes and had a fantastic play.
I hope you enjoy them.

I've had a terrific sore throat for most of the week, a very upset tummy and
several bad nights so I'm feeling very weak and washed out with no
inclination to do much! All say.....'Ahhhhhhhh....'

I hope you all have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend coming up.
I'm hoping to see more of my family.

Three Muses Challenge..Steampunk..

One of my favourite subjects this week on Three Muses....Steampunk!
I found the picture of this gorgeous doll by Marina Bychkova wearing the
amazing helmet and she was the beginning of both these pictures.
I spent a lot of time cutting around that weird and wonderful helmet
so I thought she was worth showing twice!

All the elements come from various kits I have, Holliewood Metal Momma,
Marta van Eck and Idgie Geist.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the other entries.
Thank you Three Muses for all the work you do and all the entertainment you give!

Gwendoline and Guinevere..

I always make pictures to please me and these were made with beautiful images of ladies found on Google. The background is obviously Guinevere on one and I liked the name Gwendoline on the other. So I thought they'd make a nice pair!
Well the weeks roll around and it is Sunday again. The village is jam packed with visitors and children. When I go out with Algie we often have to stop to let children pet him. And he loves the fuss. He had his booster inoculation this week and it really played him up. He whinnied and cried and finally he slept for 13 hours. He looked poorly the next day but now he is back in business, as they say!
My sister is progressing well, recovering slowly but getting there. I am still so worried about John, my son-in-law. His back is so bad now he can't sit or stand. A peculiar system we have when it's just a waiting game to see what they come up with next! Sigh.....

Well I don't mean this to be depressing! I send healing thoughts to all those of you who are suffering in some way, mentally or physically.
Just enjoy the day!
Love and hugs

Three Fishers..

It's strange how suddenly a memory comes into your mind. I thought
about my Music teacher at the High School and of some of the songs
she taught us. One was the Three Fishers and this is the chorus.
I was singing it for days so I thought I must make a picture
and get it out of my system!

And here's little Lucy with Martin. She loves her dad!
Isn't it wonderful to see a little recued dog so relaxed. It's so
different from when she first came to them. Frightened and nervous,
she didn't know how to play!
Now she hides her leather bones and can't remember where she hid them
so they all have to play Hunt the Bone with her! LOL!

Three Muses Challenge...Script..

The challenge this week is to use Script in our work.
This is not something new I've tried as I often include some writings
somewhere or other.
So just a simple vintage styled piece today.
The woman is another old photograph I found and have used many times.
Thank you so much for your visit and any comments you make always delight me.

My Pets...

How lovely to find a 100 year old photo of a child smiling! Found on Google so I extracted the child and put her in a fantasy background, seated her on a silk cushion, added her turban and pets and there you are. I was so pleased how this turned out.

Pansies..

Pansies are for Loving Thoughts so they say.....

So today I'm sending loving thoughts to my little sister Jackie who has been
taken to hospital. They've given her 3 pints of blood so something is going on.
She's due for an endoscopy tomorrow so then we may know more.
Please keep her in your prayers.....Thank you  xx

Not My Day...

Here are a couple of works I did for an Altered Art challenge for Digitalmania on Flickr.
Sometimes their challenges are demanding and totally out of my comfort zone
but this is the sort of thing I love doing.
Hope you like them.

* * *

Well I've been to Chapel this morning and taken Algie. He just knows when it's time for the little service; a hymn, a reading and a few prayers. There's no wriggling in my arms, just quiet and he listens. How amazing is that!

When we got home I expected my groceries to have been delivered.
'No' said Freddie. 'They're not coming!'
So on the phone I get to see what's up. My credit card has been compromised and they wouldn't accept it. So next I ring the credit card company. Yes, this is the third time this year I have had to have a new credit card, with all the rigmarole of changing details on various sites I shop with.
The new card won't arrive until Monday and my cupboard is bare!

Still I have bigger worries......my dear son-in-law John is abed under doctor's orders.
Awaiting results of a scan to his back. He's been pushing and pushing himself for months and looks ill with so much pain.
My son moved something in the garden which 'turned round and bit him' and nearly took his arm off.
My Grandson fell off a stepladder which collapsed under him and he was lucky he 'only' got deep scratches and gouges on his leg.
So I am thankful today for small mercies........

3 M...Circles and Squares..

I have made a pattern this week for the Three Muses challenge of circles and squares from my own work, The circle of flowers I've had for years comes from an old kit by Lauren Bavin called Emily's Garden. I've just checked and it's still available at DSP.

Thank you for looking and have a great day!

I have Fairies in my Garden!

Late last night I thought I heard music in my garden. I opened the door to investigate. It sounded like tinkling bells, so pretty! What I saw, I have never seen anything like it in my life.
I grabbed my camera and crept outside. And there were these two tiny beings dancing, completely oblivious to my presence.
I am so glad I managed to get a good picture, otherwise you would never believe me, would you?

TAW Challenge..DARK..

Well I'm not always 'into' darker subjects or the darker side of life so I had to really think about this one. Finally I made a sort of steriotype Prince of Darkness type thing but I'm not happy with it.

Then I thought of a ghost story my beloved Granddad used to tell me. Perhaps you remember something like it. We would sit on the floor in the firelight and he would set the scene. This chap was searching in a cemetary for his dead wife who had a golden arm which he wanted to steal.

'Where is your golden arm Sally?  Where is your golden arm Sally?'
All the time going through the actions pretending to feel around my face and body.

Then 'HERE IT IS!' grabbing me and I would squeal with fright and delight.
Oh such happy memories. 'Tell me again Granddad........'
So here is my picture....

Thanks so much for your visit.
Have a wonderful week!

Love and squeals

Challenges.....

These two collages were made for a challenge on Flickr..Digitalmania. To make something in the style of an artist...this time Kinga Britschg.
No, I'd never heard of her either............. LOL!
It certainly makes you get out of your comfort zone.
Do have a look at my Flickr images when you have time!

Wishing you all a happy weekend,
June xxx
