3M Lighthouse challenge

The Ghost Ship at Split Rock Lighthouse

I would not have thought of using a lighthouse in a picture 

so it stretched me.

When I read up about all the ships that were lost there before this 

Lighthouse was built in 1910, I thought there may be a ghost

ship haunting the place.

So all this was in my mind as I made it.

To those who enquired about Freddie, he is not settling down at all

at the moment. I know it is early days but I have asked that he be seen

by a doctor and possibly be prescribed anti-depressants, hoping they

may help a bit.

It is still an ongoing trauma in both our lives and I pray

that it will get easier.

Song Titles..

 

The inspiration behind both these pictures came from Country song titles

I used to sing when on the 'circuit' several years ago.

I know so many songs and it it is an easy way for me to

find inspiration.

Well now Freddie is no longer at home my life has changed considerably.

It feels very strange to be alone, just me and the dog.

I don't know what I'd do without him.

We are now going out for a 'walk'. me riding and he is walking

and riding.

We Will Remember Them...

Remembrance Sunday is just around the corner once again.

This year has been especially emotive as we have celebrated the

Anniversary of the start of the Great War...100 years ago.

The war to end all wars...so they said.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old.

Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

But at the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Fright....Three Muses...

What are you afraid of?

Interesting challenge this week.

Some may be afraid of spiders,  or mice.  I knew a girl 

who was afraid to touch a feather.

Some people are afraid of injections or they may faint at the sight of blood.

I get this queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach at the sight of clowns.

At this time of year we seem to be bombarded with clowns and Hallowe'en.

So I made this.....it is my Fear...

TAW...Masculine challenge...

This is my 'Masculine' challenge for Take a Word.

Almost all family portraits from this era show the father standing upright and all are stiff and starchy.

I thought this picture found on Google was fabulous, with the father looking so relaxed and sitting on the floor with his children! Just look at the little boy peeking over daddy's shoulder.

Blowing the Cobwebs away...

Most of you know I cannot leave the house without my buggy as I cannot walk far. Here is Algie taking his 'walk' with me yesterday. He rides on the footplate if there is a lot of traffic or if he gets tired. otherwise he runs beside me.

We were on our way to the quayside to share a 'walk' with the family. He is so disappointed when it is wet and we cannot go out.

Again it shows a very high tide over the quay where I live.

Things at home have been very stressful and now to cap it all

 Freddie has a water infection and probably a chest infection too

 and was taken to hospital this afternoon.

My Son...

My son was a Police diver.He had some awful, awful jobs. We have so much water in Norfolk with the Broads there are often accidents andhe has retrieved many bodies from the dangerous reed filled waterways.

In the top picture he is waiting to be hosed down after coming out of a slurry tank.

I am so proud of this wonderful human being.

Saturday...

Life is far from easy these days. Last night I had to call on two neighbours, Guy and Tony to help me get Freddie off the floor again. They even helped me to get him to bed and undressed. Wonderful neighbours!  Thank you.

And a couple of pictures recently made.

I love the New Look and fashion from the 50's.

And of course Paris has always been an icon for fashion...

It's been a very stressful time this last few weeks, with Freddie being virtually blind But he has had an operation on his eye and already can see a wee bit. Early days but we're hopeful. Unfortunately he has lost still more strength in his legs which I find even more of a worry. The consequences don't bear thinking about.........
