Procrastination..

I am a Procrastinator! (I think that's a word!)
Decisions I have no problem with, usually I can choose instantly.
But if there are small or maybe larger tasks I dislike, I put them off. I may think about them daily and feel guilty but I still put them off!
Of course you have to face them in the end....
Do you procrastinate?
I found this little poem that says it all.

Two pans do not make a cook,
Two words do not make a book,
But it's a start.

Two planks do not make a boat.
Two sleeves do not make a coat,
But it's a start.

Two notes do not make a song,
Two shorts do not make a long,
But it's a start.

Two steps do not make a walk,
Two hands do not make a clock,
But it's a start.

Setting off is half the fight,
And if you know it to be right,
Make a start.

I wish you all a happy and peaceful Sunday.

Love and Hugs

June xx

Challenges..

Here are three of the collages I made for the Digitalmania Challenge this week, 'In the style of...' This time it was Michelle Caplan and these are my ideas.
The top one is my Uncle Fred who served in the Indian Army. The middle one is a flight of fancy but the bottom one is my dearest Grandmother with her twins. Unfortunately they died at 6 months. She went on to have my Mother and another boy, my Uncle Stanley.
Thank you for looking. I'd love to read your comments.xxx

And so they were wed...

Don't you just love her wide eyed innocence?
And the suave, sophistication of himself. The 'cat that got the cream' look in his eyes.
I hope they lived happily ever after!
Thank you for viewing my little Miss Kitty series and I hope you've enjoyed the fairy tale....xxx

Dezinaword..Angel Faces..

These are three collages I have designed for June over at Dezinaworld. Her beautiful Angel Faces set. How can anyone resist these gorgeous vintage images of children?
June is struggling with serious family health issues and deserves our support and prayers at this time. Please do pop over and see her lovely Angel Faces and the gorgeous designs her other CT designers have made.

Meet Master Thomas..

Master Thomas came to call. Miss Kitty's little heart was all a flutter! How could she resist those gorgeous blue eyes and his wonderful large ears. He looked so confident and nonchalant as he gave her the rose from his buttonhole. Her knees were trembling as she sighed...
'Ah. This is the cat for me.............!'

So Mama and Papa were happy to announce their engagement and it was published in the Gazette, along with this beautiful engagement portrait of Miss Kitty, wearing her favourite green lacy dress that matches her eyes.
After reading this piece of news, later that day, many a young stud gave a regretful sigh.....
But Master Thomas was wearing a very smug smile..........

She Walks by Night..

This is a ghost story, look at the picture and weave your thoughts into it. Is she searching? If so for whom? Had she been deserted, or even worse, murdered? How long must she search.........?

This collage was made after seeing a wonderful photo taken by Jan deBellis of an old cemetary.
Thank you so much Jan. I overlaid it with another old churchyard and added the elements from my stash. I wonder why we feel old and neglected cemetaries always look creepy? Anyone know?

Dezinaworld..

Here are a couple of Pink Collages I have designed for June at Dezinaworld. The sheet above has a marvellous array of Pink images to use in all sorts of ways. Hop on over to see what the other girls have made. Some fabulous pieces. We all love PINK!!

Dolls and Feathers..

I've always loved dolls and there are some beautiful artist dolls to be seen on the net. This one fascinated me with her glorious headdress so I made the Doll Princess.

And I love this beautiful face and I've used her several times, this time in a Collage with a touch of brightly coloured feathers.

I should be getting my new car today........! Fingers crossed. xx

My Family..

I sometimes find it hard to write something on this blog. I am mostly housebound, my days of taking long walks along the beach or country lanes are gone. I used to love having a day out hitting the shops, looking at fashions etc. Now I have to do all my shopping online. I miss the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping with everywhere decorated and lit up. Now I am an armchair traveller with postcards from friends and all the lovely places you visit when I read your blogs.

I rarely see all my family together, the young ones anyway, so I was so thrilled to get these happy photos. They were together having a lovely day out with the children.
The black and white one is my darling Rebecca with her partner Donna and little Harley.
What happiness they radiate.

Take a Word Challenge. .Black and White..

Black and White with a touch of green.
Here's my collage for the Take a Word Challenge this week.
The face is my own, other bits and pieces from Google and my stash.
Thank you for visiting on this bright and blowy morning. xx

Thank you for visiting. xx

Beauty..

How can anyone ever tell you
That you're anything less than beautiful...
How can anyone ever tell you
That you're less than wise...
How can anyone fail to notice
That your loving is a miracle...
How deeply you're connected to my soul.....

SoArtful Challenge..Angel..

SoArtful has two images up today for their Angel challenge. I have used both..(see post below as well!). This fabulous angel was photographed in Warsaw. I hope you like how I've treated her.
Thank you so much for looking.xx

SoArtful Challenge..Angels..

Learning...

After a while, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open and with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for your plans.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul - instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you will learn that you really can endure, that you really are special and that you do have worth.
So live to learn and know yourself.
In doing so, you will learn to live.

I have just found these words written in my own hand in a notebook. I haven't said who wrote them but they obviously had a deep meaning for me at the time I copied them.
I have put them here as they may have a meaning for someone else.

With love and blessings

Digitalmania Challenge..

These three collages I have made for the Digitalmania Challenge on Flickr. This week it is to make something 'in the style of ' Don Li-Leger. He uses lots of panels in his work with blocks of colour and most have an Oriental feel. I did enjoy this challenge and there have been some wonderful entries.

Three Muses Challenge..Circles and Squares..

It's early Wednesday morning here already, quite dark outside with everything quiet and still.
This is my design for the Three Muses Challenge this week. The backgrounds and kaleidoscopes are my own, the large circle with the pattern is Googled. Looking at it now I guess it could have done with a bit of brightening up. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what othes do.
Thank you for looking. xx

For Dezinaworld..

Here are a couple of Christmas cards I've made for June over at Dezinaworld with her Christmas Joy set she's showing today. There are some lovely pics of children on them. Do go and look!
They are so easy to cut out and paste on to your pretty Christmas backing papers, they almost make themselves.

A New Day..

A new day beginning.
This lovely photo was taken by my son, out early taking his
little dog Jake for his morning walk yesterday.
I think it gives a feeling of promise..another new beginning.
Whatever happened yesterday is done, gone...
Start today with a smile.
With love and blessings,
June xx

Gothic Arch Challenge..

This week the Gothic arch challenge over on Nostalgic Collage
is calling for a Classic Literature Arch.
Being a great fan of anything Arthurian
this is my subject.
Thank you for looking. xx

Digitalmania Challenge..

I think you'll agree these are bit different to my usual style.
The challenge asked us to make something in the style of...again.
This time Heather Galler. She makes such colourful pieces
it's always quite hard trying to imitate someone
else's style. Anyway, here are my colourful efforts.

I don't think I mention half enough about my Followers. I have had several lovely ladies join me recently and I try to get around to visiting your blogs. You all have such lovely work to see.
I thank you so much for joining me and I so appreciate it when you take the time to leave me a message. If you have any queries or are stuck with something Photoshop related I shall be happy to try and help.

Big Hugs

Take a Word Challenge..Childhood..

The Take a Word Challenge this week is Childhood.
You could do so many things with this word, take your own childhood, family etc.
But I've gone the Vintage way and found old images on Google.
I have used this gorgeous little boy several times before
on cards and collages
and the little sisters looked so sweet with their dolls.
Thank you for looking. xx

Birdie Darling..

I was happy with this collage. It's not so often I can say that!
There's always a little something I would/could have done
differently when I look at it afterwards. I love the old sheet
music which I recoloured.
All images were Googled.

And I also love this picture. I think the background came from
Jinksy at In Tandem, which I recoloured.
The beautiful Medieval lady was one of Dezinaworld's Beauties.
The rest from my stash.

* * * * *

I often feel crotchety and grouchy!
No surprise there!!
I came across these words and hope they may be of use
to you as well as me.........

What good did it do being grouchy today?
Did your surliness drive any troubles away?
Did you cover more ground than you usually do
because of that grouch that you carried with you?
If not, what's the use of a grouch or a frown
If it won't smooth a path or a grim trouble drown?
If it doesn't assist you it isn't worthwhile......
Your job may be hard but just do it.......
And smile!

Have a smiley Sunday everyone.
Hugs and Blessings

A beautiful Saturday..

It's a beautiful, fresh Autumn day here again and I thought the rich colours of this collage suited it very well. I have taken another Old Master's painting and put it in another setting, one of my favourite things to do.

Early this morning I went on my scooter to visit my grandson and great grandchildren. They only live a spit away so I am very lucky to have them so near and the children are doing fine.

Then I went down to our shop to get Freddie his newspaper and as I had the the scooter took a ride round the quay. The sun was brilliant and I had to shade my eyes. The tide was in and there were just a handful of people working on their boats and one lady taking photographs. Apart from that the quay was deserted. No cars, no visitors and I sat a few minutes soaking the beauty of it in. A magic moment to remember all day.

I hope you all have a magical Saturday and please scroll down for a Freebie, with my love.

Hugs.

I hope everyone is as well as can be on this lovely bright
Autumn morning. Well it is here

Yesterday while browing I found this picture of some little
boy from long ago, wearing his best suit, which included
a Norfolk Jacket.
This same style has been going for well over 150 years and
as I live in Norfolk, UK I had to play with it.
All the images were Googled and I even found the layout for a pattern of the jacket.

Around here our Gamekeepers and often their 'Gentlemen' wear the
Norfolk Jacket and Breeks when attending Country Fairs and Shows.
Cut from the finest Harris Tweed and made to measure
they are very,very expensive.
I think it's a lovely remnant of Olde England!
