The Love of Angels..

I thought we (I!!) needed something a little lighter today, February 29th. Leap Year Day.
How quickly goes the time......
I love angels and pictures of them so here is another collage I made. No frightening dreams.
Just Peace and Love.

If you are ever in need of reassurance, I hope these words will comfort you..

Faith is not believing that God can. It is knowing that He will.

Three Muses challenge..Circus,..

It sure can be some days.

Three Muses want us to go to the circus this week for their challenge. I hate to upset all you circus lovers but I have never been a fan of the circus. And I like clowns even less. In fact I have bad dreams about them. I don't know where this came from and it's no use me trying to make it sound better as I can't. So above is what came out when I tried to make a clown. Sorry, another bad dream!
Thanks for visiting and I'm looking forward to seeing all your bright dreams of circus.

Collage Obsession..Rainbow..

Collage Obsession wondered what we'd like to find at the end of the rainbow. I think to see a rainbow is just like looking ar a piece of magic! Well we all hope for good luck, good health and a little prosperity but I think what's important in life is what we keep in our heart.
Lots of love and rainbow blessings,

TAW Challenge..Mail..

Happy Monday everyone! To start off this week it's the Take a Word challenge...MAIL. I thought I'd get away from my usual pretty envelope design and came up with this instead.
Of course Marie had mail, Fanmail! See how she welcomes that hunk of a mailman with open arms! So would I!!
Thanks for visiting!

SPA..Birthstone..

I've made my card with my own, Pearls for June, with roses. A dear old friend always used to bring me a lovely posy of roses from his garden on my birthday every year. Both he and I have moved but I always remember that beautiful thought.
My entry for Sunday Postcard Art. Thank you for looking.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Paris Time..

I made this collage this morning, before Freddie got up for his breakfast! Hope you like it.

Now I really must pull my finger out and do some work. Our Methodist Chapel in the village is coming up to its 200th. Anniversary and they are having a little book printed with some of the history and photographs. I was asked if I'd design it etc. So I am doing pages of text with added photographs and it is a bit difficult to say the least. Trying to read her handwriting is the least of the problems! LOL! I've done a good bit but there's a lot more to do.
Why do I find myself procrastinating.........?

The Old Album..

I made this collage a few weeks ago and it has been sitting in my computer. The children I Googled and coloured. Everything else comes from my stash and different scrapbooking kits I have had for years. I like to imagine opening the pages and seeing all the different family pictures from long ago.

My Grandmother had an old album, full of pretty postcards sent to her husband and from him to her while he was at sea. Reading them it felt like a collection of love letters and I could imagine them as young people missing each other. After she passed it went to my mother and I fondly thought it would eventually come to me. But no, my mother gave it to my niece who never knew either of them. When I asked if I could borrow it as I wanted to see it once more it had apparently been lost. I can tell you, I was heartbroken...........

Three Muses..Art in the Round..

Here are my collages for Art in the Round this week on Three Muses. I got carried away and made two.
In the bottom one you'll probably recognise Titians Venus but I've given her a little wisp of dampness rising from the water to protect her modesty.

Thanks for looking.xx

Three Muses..Art in the round..

Collages..

Hello dear friends,
Here are a couple of collages made very recently, just for me.
The top one was really a study, practicing layers and blending. I was fairly happy with the result.

In the one below, I found this gorgeous picture of a porcelain mirror in an auction advert, so the collage was really made around that. The woman was another painting by Csabo Markus, a few elements added from my stash and I was happy with the finished picture.

I've had a bit of a change from the computer lately. I've been playing with beads. I used to make a lot of jewellery at one time so I've been making a few necklaces. I shall have to pull my finger out, as they say, and take a few pictures!

Have a lovely day.

Take a Word Challenge..Turquoise..

A lovely theme this week for the Challenge on Take a Word. Turquoise. It's nice to have a colour theme and to be left to 'do your own thing'. So this is what I came up with.

The whole thing came from one kit. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it at the moment. Thank you for looking.

PS The kit is called Because of You by AneczkaW Designs.

It's Sunday..It's SPA..Gothic

The days roll around and we're back to Sunday with the challenge from Sunday Postcard Art. This week it's Gothic. So this is my postcard. I hope it's got a Gothic feel to it.
The images and background all were Googled. The overlay is by Ana Librillano plus I played around with filters in Photoshop.
Thank you so much for looking and Happy Sunday to you.

It's almost the weekend...

A couple of collages for you to see. Most of the elements in the top one came from my vast collection!
The one below, The Golden Child, the image came from a painting by Csabo Markus and all the elements and background from a kit called Cherubini by Snowraven.
I am very fond of Csabo Markus' paintings and I've used them often in my work.

Well I hope the weekend promises something nice for each of you.

A New Kit..

She shall have Music

Here are a couple of digital collages I have made with a beautiful new kit by Eena's Creations called Symphony of Angels. The lady in the frame is by Dezinaworld.
I see such a lot of very clever and beautiful pictures on Flickr etc. sometimes very modern, or very dark, or very surreal and I think beside them my pictures look so old fashioned and conservative. But I can't help it. I sometimes try to change my style for various challenges but I always come back to something that is my idea of pretty and vintage.
When I discovered this kit, I thought straight away.......This is me!
Do you have trouble changing your style?

Sad.....

I've just come back from the dentist so only now having a little browse. My dear friend Cheryl sent me this beautiful three dimensional frame card the other day. It's really beautiful!
I went over to her blog and saw she had lost one of her beloved dogs, Rex, a gorgeous West Highland. I know how upset she would be so telephoned her straight away. We both cried together........

When you have pets, they become so much part of the family, like little children. You have them live with you as part of your life for quite a long time and however many pets you've had, losing one doesn't become easier, and you never forget each one, all their little foibles and tricks.
Valentine's day will never be the same for Cheryl again.
My own little Corey has started developing a few little symptoms and I dread it becoming worse and hate to think of that day....you always know when it's time.........

Cheryl's beautiful work and pictures of Rex can be seen on her blog Cheryls Creative Cards

Three Muses..Outside the frame..

What's in is out!

The challenge on Three Muses is a very interesting one. They asked for an 'outside the frame' look, perhaps featuring birds. I got carried away and made two just for fun.
Thank you for visiting and hope you enjoy.

My Little Valentines..

This is 'the boy', looking all grown up, with little sister and his friend who stayed for the weekend.
Here's little Skyela, last weekend, having her first wash, cut and blow-dry! By the look on her face, she was taking the job very seriously! Just look at those eyes. I can see Daddy beating the boys off from the door! LOL!

Love in the Rain..

Well we had a little in the night and it has washed most of the snow away. It's milder today so that's a blessing too. I have just got this kit by Manue so I thought I'd have a play. I was fascinated with the raindrops!
It also reminded me of a lovely boy friend I had 100 years ago who used to walk or cycle from the next village to see me, rain or shine. I used to don my mackintosh and go to meet him and we'd find a wall and a hedge to shelter under.
At that time there was a song came out..

Why do I come out in the pouring rain?
Walking for miles to see you once again,
Thunder and lightning a coming and a going,
Why do I keep right on....?
'Cos I love ya that'sa why...etc.

I wonder if any of you can remember it?

Take a Word.. ATC's..

Here's a blast from the past! Take a Word's challenge this week is Old fashioned ATC's. Here's a very small selection I made way back when. I was in a Group that did swapsies and I have a folder full of them and another folder full of my own.
Thank you all for looking. xxx

Red, White and Pink..

Here is my Collage for the So Artful Inspirations Challenge. They had either some photos to use or the colours red, white and pink. I chose the colours. All images are from my stash. The textured overlay is courtesy of Ana Librillana. Thanks for looking. xx

Friday Foto Challenge..

Dear Peggy has posted several pictures on her blog for us to make a collage with, including several prertty frames. I have taken a frame and the little fairy out of one picture to make my collage. I've added a quote I've had in my stash forever and Voila! My Challenge Picture.

I'd like to dedicate it to ALL my followers and friends. You are all dear to me and I appreciate it so much when you leave a little comment. I am in excruciating pain this morning. I twisted round and pulled a muscle in my back. It will ease with a few paracetamol and a little rest.

Love and Hugs to you all,

Penny for your Thoughts..

I have made this today. Following on from yesterday's post about depression, I found this quote quite apt. I think depression and insecurity go hand in hand and we do (I know I do) sometimes wear a different mask, or in this pictures case, a head, for differing occasions.

For years I used to do the circuit of entertaining and singing. You would think I had loads of confidence to do that, but no. I'd like to get there early to set up before anyone was there, then I would be ready with my back to the wall for people to come in and greet me, never the other way round. I hated going into a room full of strangers all staring at you.

Now I'm going to share with you my secret. two little words........AS IF......
It involves just a little bit of acting but nobody knows that. You walk in to a room and act 'as if' you are walking down a red carpeted catwalk. You are a model wearing the latest fashions, beautiful shoes and jewels.
You act 'as if' you are as brave as a lion, even though your heart may be doing a clog dance.

Believe me, it works. I've been doing it so long it's second nature to me. But now at my age I don't really need it as I lead a completely different lifestyle. I'm now a stay at home gal!
And I'm so glad I don't have to act 'as if' when I'm talking to you, all my wonderful blogland friends.
God Bless you all,
Love and Hugs

Please read..

This was posted on my Australian sister's Facebook page today. I know many of us suffer more or less at times with Depression, myself included. Not long ago it was a word hardly mentioned. Let's hope today there are so many more enlightened and sympathetic people in the world.
If anyone wants to share their feelings privately and confidentially on this, my email address is at the top of my blog.

Dezinaworld..Faux Cabinet Cards..

Do have a look at June's web page today. She is now giving away her collage sheets for FREE!
How great is that. Today she is featuring her Faux Cabinet Cards. As you know I am one of her family of designers and here are the two I made for her. It's amazing what you can do with these lovely vintage images. You will also see some of her other designers work there.

Nostalgia..

Found the cake picture for you too!

A bit of nostalgia here. I thought you might like to see a wedding pic of Freddie and I, 26+ years ago now. When we were both fit and able! I was still a bit handy with the old sewing machine as I made my dress. I also wore pretty high heeled blue shoes. I wonder what became of those.......?
I found another photo of the Opera singer Ganna Walska and made this musical collage.

Three Muses..Decorated Torso Tag..

Here is my Torso Tag for the Three Muses Challenge. I'm sorry it's not a physical one but I hope you like it anyway.
Thanks for looking. xxx

Fairy princess..

The woman was taken from an old Master's painting whose name escapes me at the moment! My brain!! What's new? I gave her some wings and turned her into a fairy. But she does look a bit serious! Found background and played about with layers etc.

Beautiful blue sky here at present and the temperature is hovering around the freezing mark. The snow is still hanging about on the grass. Fortunately I can stay here in the warm.
The Nurse has just been to redress Freddie's feet and she said she had to drive very carefully.
Hope we don't get any more snow.
I hope you are all well and warm too.

Collage Obsession Challenge..Orange..

Drowning in orange.

This is well outside my comfort zone. I never ever use such strong colours. But this is the challenge on Collage Obsession so I had a go.
Thank you for looking. xx

Take a Word..Coffee..

The Challenge this week on Take a Word is Coffee. I have found this very old photograph of a French Cafe selling Coffee of course among other things. It's lovely to see them spilling out on to the street and posing for the photographer.
Coffee pot and mug Googled and the black and white drawing, which I have coloured.
Thank you for looking. Happy Monday everyone! xx

SPA.. Classic Movies..

Sunday Postcard Art's challenge this week is to use a Classic Movie to make your postcard with.
I have chosen Casablanca, that timeless movie with the fabulous Miss Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart, old Bogey as they called him.
Hope you enjoy it and many thanks for looking. xx

Please scroll down and see my ray of Sunshine for the cold winter's day!

Live, laugh and love..

Just to bring a little sunshine to a freezing cold Saturday morning. She's quite a Showgirl eh?
So far we haven't any snow but it's promised for this afternoon and tomorrow. I am venturing out this morning. I'm taking my son Stanley and daughter in law Jenny out to lunch. She's been working all night so won't have had much sleep. I shall meet them there as they have a long way to come.
Freddie went for his foot checkup yesterday and they are so sore today he won't come as he can't walk very far. Not there's very much walking as I wouldn't be able to do it! He's now back on the anti-biotic routine.......
So Stanley is now retired! Daughter Sally isn't coming either as she's away for a long weekend with a bunch of girl friends. Something they get together for twice a year.

The Postcard from Budapest

The found lady I coloured in Photoshop and she did indeed come from Budapest. Church Googled and the rest from my stash.
Wrap up warm today folks. 'They' have threatened snow for us this weekend.

My sister has had a couple of 'funny phonecalls', you know what I mean. They are not so funny at 1am. when you think you may be needed by someone in the family. It's made her very nervous as she lives alone since she lost her husband.
I have never been bothered by such a thing. What pleasure can anyone get by frightening someone in the night. It's so cruel. There's no doubt there are some very strange people out there...........

Faces..

All the faces on this collage were taken from the paintings of Csaba Markus. Everything else from my stash. His paintings of women are just superb and I love them.

I've been to Chapel this morning, it's very, very cold! I did my chauffeuse bit and dropped them off outside the Post Office after. We are so lucky to still have a Post Office in the village as many roundabout have been closed.

My cousin has sent me news from his friend Neil, the dashing Neil who owns a Teddy Bear Hug!
Mind you, I think they own him!
Pinky is complaining bitterly about the cold, demanding the heating and electric fires be turned on. He sits wrapped in his sable throw, reminiscing about the time he lived in the Kremlin, behind thick triple glazed windows in front of a roaring log fire!

Pasquale and Perdita have created their own 'stairs' to the bathroom basin, using the wash basket, the scales and a box of lavatory paper, so they can get up and fill their own hot water bottles. I bet they put a whoosh of rum in their coffee too. Who would think bears felt the cold so much?

Do your Teddy Bears give you much trouble? In comparison, mine are angels!!

Three Muses..A Musical Instrument..

The Musical Cat

My violin is a secondary image in this collage. The lady I found on Google and coloured in Photoshop. She is Ganna Walska, a Polish opera singer and her photo was taken about 1925.
Thank you for looking.xx
