SPA Venetian Masks..

Sunday Postcard Art has put us in a Carnival mode this week. They've asked for Venetian masks.
Well here's my postcard. The poster is by Cemerony and the masks etc. by Cajoline Scrap. It must be a grand event to witness and see all the fabulous costumes and masks.
Thanks so much for looking and any comments.

Play to me Gypsy..

Another little cat medley! An old painting, a lovely cat and a music overlay. Hope you enjoy.

I think the anaesthetic really got into my system. I had a little fall this morning and my arms seem to have lost all strength so I had a dickens of a job trying to get up. I'm still feeling a bit fragile with a tender mouth and face.

There is no friend like the old friend
Who has shared our morning days.
No greeting like his welcome,
No homage like his praise.
Fame is the scentless sunflower
With gaudy crown of gold;
But friendship is the breathing rose,
With sweets in every fold.

Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Rhapsody in Blue..

Although blue is just about my favourite colour I don't often use much blue in collages, I don't know why. When I saw this old portrait of the woman in blue I liked it so I made this to show you. Hope you like it. x

Yesterday went much better than expected. My son and DIL took me and Stanley came into the waiting room with me. He was a wonderful black doctor whose name I couldn't catch! The worst part was the anaesthetic, much different to my usual dentist. It was long, painful and squeezed tears from my closed eyes!
Anyway the job is done, the broken fragments and a large root pulled out. I asked to see it and was amazed!
I was so tired in the afternoon I had to lie down, I think it was the anaesthetic in my system. I had some soup for my supper and slept well.
This morning I feel a bit washed out and my mouth and face are a bit sore but it's over, glory be!

Now we have a leak in the toilet and must have a new cistern etc. So everythings back to normal! LOL!

Three Muses Challenge..Spring..

This is my collage for the Spring Challenge tomorrow.
I've gone for brighter colours and a bit of whimsy in this one.
It matches my blog header, all from the same kit.
Thank you for looking.xx

I've also given you this darling baby bunny for a little springtime treat.
Everyone say...'Aaaaaaahhh!'

I'm posting this today as my son is fetching me early tomorrow and taking me to Norwich for dental surgery so I won't have much time on here. Hope to see you all on Thursday.xx

but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

Collage Obsession Challenge..WHITE!!

The challenge this week is to make a picture using mainly white. It's almost impossible to use white alone and it would look too boring, though there are many shades of white. So I've made my Study in White with a touch of colour added. I hope it's suitable.
Thanks so much for looking! xx

TAW Challenge..Hats..

HATS! That's the challenge on Take a Word this week. This photograph of my precious granddaughter has always been one of my favourites so I incorporated it into my collage for the challenge. By the way, Rebecca will be 31 next month! My, where has the time gone? The hat she's trying on in the photo was worn by my daughter Sally, Rebecca's Mum, when she was a bridesmaid for my sister!
I hope you've all had a special weekend.
Thanks for looking.

Sunday Postcard Art..Rusty Barns..

And here's the postcard I've made for the Sunday Postcard Art's challenge this week, which is Rusty barns. All photos Googled. I started with the rusty barn as a background and overlaid it with a picture of some sort of wheeled machinery found in an an old barn. I loved the found rusty mailbox.
Thank you so much for looking. xxx

Saturday..

Here's the delicious Mona yet again with crysanthemums in her hair

And here is my collage for the Challenge on SoArtful today...Pink,Blue and Green.
I've manipulated one of Peggy's lovely illustrations. The overlay is another collage I've made with the same colours for the cover of a book. Thank you for looking.

Mona Boleyn..

I must be in a Mona Mood! LOL! I had another play today and made this one. I think old Henry would have fallen for her I'm sure but she might have lost her head!
Thank you for looking and your lovely comments.

Mona and Millie..

It's a long time since I played with our Mona so had a play yesterday and did this. I think Mona and Millie are holidaying in Barbados! It's certainly somewhere hot and she has a lovely tan.
So this is for all my friends out there who are still getting snow! Think warm thoughts!
I wonder what Leonardo would have thought to see all the alterations people have done to his Mona Lisa over the years?

Junibears in her Studio!

I have mentioned several times that I put lots of images onto my Flickr site and you can see them quite easily by clicking in the box at the top left of my blog.

I have put a lot of my cat pictures up lately and the King Tutcat I dedicated to a friend whose Flickr name is Tutincommon.
Well he has returned the compliment and posted today was the picture above and he called it 'Junibears in her Studio'. I feel quite honoured really that he has taken the time to make this collage, very cleverly done with the added colour to the black and white. I've even got a cat's face with some curly hair!

What do you think of it?

King Tutcat..

I made this from the real King Tut's golden mask. His ears were quite prominent so the first thing to do was remove them. Then to blend in the lovely grey cat face and apply some eye make-up. I think this gave him the right feel, Of course there's a great connection between Egypt and Cats! I don't own a cat at the moment but I am quite fond of them and love to place them in unfamiliar surroundings! Hope you like it.

3 M Challenge..House tag..

Good morning dear friends! The challenge over on the Three Muses website is a house shaped tag. So here is mine in some sunshiny colours. It was made with a kit by Rucola designs.
Thank you for looking and have a sunshiny day! xxx

CATZ!

Well as you can see I've been on a bit of a binge with
cat photos along with some Old Master's portraits.
The lady above was holding a cat which I've replaced with
a baby tiger!

And this is Cleokat! it was a picture of Elizabeth Taylor
in Cleopatra.

Another beautiful day today and I've been doing several errands on my scooter.
I went as far as the churchyard to lay a posy on Mother's grave.
it would have been her birthday tomorrow, the first day of Spring. xxx

Take a Word..Angels..

The Music of Angels.

This is my challenge for Take a Word this week, Angels. I found this lovely painting of Angels while browsing. There is another I used as background and a filter by Ana Librillano and I was happy with it.
I was up at 5am. this Monday morning. It looks to be a beautiful day but there is a hard white frost. The back garden looks white, fresh and clean. When I let Corey out for his morning constitutional, he didn't want to stay long. He'd rather be snuggled up on a blanket in my chair!

Thanks for looking and your kind comments. Happy Monday dear ones.

It's Mothering Sunday..

Here in the UK we are celebrating Mother's Day. This is my favourite photo of my Mum. It always hung over my Nannie's big black piano. I think she was 18 or 19 when this was taken. She was always musical, played piano and had a wonderful singing voice. Kathleen was one of her favourites. It would have been her birthday on the first day of Spring, March 21st.
I was lucky to have her for 93 years, some happy, some sad, but that's life.

So I'm wishing you all treasured memories of your Mother, whether she's here or long gone.
A very peaceful and happy Mother's Day to you.

With my love and big hugs

A pretty for you..

Blue Roses.
Just something I played with. The background is a
photomanipulation of her dress and lace collar.
Woman Googled, the elements from my stash.

I hope you scroll down to look at some funnies!
Hugs xx

Enjoy the Outdoors!

Just look at the horror on that woman's face as she sees
her luggage torn to shreds!
This poor man looks as if he's about to get whacked!
WoW!

Hello dear friends,

My dear daughter in law Jenny often sends me some 'funnies' when she has time to browse. Some get a bit naughty and I wouldn't show you those. But she knows I shall laugh and it cheers me to get them. This morning she sent me some pics telling you to get out and enjoy communing with nature. But here are a few pics where I'm sure they wish they'd stayed home.
Enjoy..

Latest work..

Blue Butterflies..

My own digitally altered background. The lovely Iris was Googled and the
butterflies I've had in my stash for ever.

Truly Loved..

Again I've digitally altered backgrounds. If I remember rightly there are three that I've layered together. Elements and wordart from a kit by Laurie Anderson.

Thank you for looking. At last the sun is shining, I have miniature daffoldils and tulips in bloom and yesterday I found a patch of violets, so Spring is almost here.

Three Muses Challenge..ONE..

My collage for the Three Muses Challenge this week is done. I've been feeling pretty down this week so I guess it was reflected in my work. Anyway, the lonely soul was Googled.
The background is my own, blended from three pieces if I remember correctly.
Thank you for viewing and leaving a comment. xxx

At last I've got an appointment for taking out this fractured root, at the end of the month. I am feeling very apprehensive (read scared!). I dislike anything to do with dentists! It usually means pain of some sort.......
I am phoning them today to ask if there is far to walk or any stairs etc. so I shall be prepared a bit in my mind. You have to know if you can manage on your crutches or do you need your wheelchair, or what sort of facilities they have.
I usually have to do these sort of things alone so it is very great relief to me my son is able to fetch me, stay with me and bring me home.

Have a great day! Love and Hugs

Under the Waves..

This collage started with the background..a photo of a wave sent by my sister in Australia. I manipulated it a bit, added some mermaids, and there it is. I like the colours and the thought there may be, just may be mermaids somewhere.......

Thought you might like this..an oldie but a goodie...

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain
your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw
print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it
becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing
in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing
me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I
fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry
about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure
your comfort. However, dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball
when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each
other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that
sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other
end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by
some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is
not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw
under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the
same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -
canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other
dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Any cat and dog owners can relate to this I'm sure.

Collage Obsession..St. Patrick's Day..

In my previous postingI said I wasn't ready for St. Patrick's Day. Well Collage Obsession have given their challenge this week for just that. So here's my bit of digital Blarney.
My own background digitally altered, plus a freebie overlaid. The little Colleen was found on Google. Thank you for looking. xxx

TAW Challenge..Green..

The Green Man or 40 Shades of Green.

Here is my collage for this weeks challenge on Take a Word....Green. I always think straight away of the Green Man. My mind hasn't reached St. Pat's day yet! The image I've used before and found on Google. Background much manipulated is my own.
Thanks very much for looking. Hugs xxx

SPA..Feathered Friends..

Sunday Postcard Art this week asks for a collage of Our Feathered Friends.
I've gone for a touch of whimsy this week. The little girl came from one of my kits and I redressed her in some found feathers and gave her feathery wings. And of course she has a couple of birdie friends. Thank you for looking and I wish you a very happy weekend.

Love goes on forever..

The idea came from manipulating my own background that I'd made and the squares seeming to go on forever. Overlaid with another of my backgrounds. The figure is a found image of a doll.
Final layer by Dusty Bear. Hope you like it. Hugs xx

Friday Foto Collage..

When I was a child I thought this saying went very well with adults! I don't know what you think.
This is my collage for this week's challenge on Friday Foto Collage by Peggy Gatto. The image provided was the old lady with her board. Thank you for looking. xx

3M Challenge..Couples..

I guess Mother and Daughter count as a couple. This is Mother on her 93rd. birthday, just months before she passed. It was a happy day......
And this is how the stereotypical couple used to look.
All images made for the Three Muses Challenge challenge this week.
Thank you all so much for looking and maybe leaving a comment.

The Visitor..

Just having a little play in Photoshop and made this. I don't get many visitors, it's usually phone calls and I'm not sure how I'd handle a visitor like this. But he/she doesn't look too bad.
I combined several of my backgrounds and manipulated them, arch and visitor were found, overlay by Ana Librillano, with many thanks.
If you had a knock on your door or a ring on your doorbell, what would you say to a visitor like this? You know what they say, you may be entertaining angels................
