A Boy...

Good morning dear friends! At last a little sunshine!

Today I want to show you how I arrived at the finished result.

Of course the pictures are in the wrong order!!

I started with the flower cluster.

made it into a pattern, then layered it over and over to make the background.

Put the music and boy on top and Voila!

a slightly different look.

Devil or Angel......?

Every now and then I dig into the restored picture file my friend Andrew found. Unfortunately so many of the files are corrupted and only occasionally can I find a complete picture. These I have put into a new folder called my Scrambled Kit! These I found yestersay. So...............

Was that fallen angel Lucifer really a woman?    Just a bit of whimsy for you.

Take a Word.. Sewing..

I am so honoured today that Marie asked me to host our Sewing Challenge this week on Take a Word. I thought I'd go for a more amusing take and found all these pictures online.That wonderful patch in the background and the old posters. You may have heard the old slogan from wartime days, when you had coupons to buy some new clothes. So you remade your old ones.

Also while browsing for the same thing I came across a picture of the actual pattern I made my wedding dress from. I was gobsmacked! So I had to do another one. I altered the neckline of the dress to make a deep V and it was made from 9 1/2 yards of heavy rose patterned satin. I wore my mother's pearls and that is my stepfather, bless him, trying to straighten my veil. So it was One Wet and Windy day in October 1955!

All Pretty Things..

 

My friend Peter Toothill on Flickr asked if we could do a collaboration with one of his photographs.

I'm usually up for a challenge so I chose this gorgeous photo of a stall, filled to the brim with ribbons, laces, hats and all sorts of frippery.

So above it you can see my completed collage. I moved the scene to France, added the shopper and a few more bits and pieces and Voila! A bit over the top and so crowded but I guess a real old shop selling these things would be in their day. I hope you like it.

 

Today I am going out to lunch with an old friend and we hope to meet lots of mutual friends so I am really looking forward to it as I haven't been far for a long time.

3 Muses..QUOTE..

I like to find a new (to me) quote and have stored away quite a few.They often give a good starting point for a collage, like this one did, a quote I hadn't found before but how true it is.

So I'm hoping to find a few more when I view the other challenges on the Three Muses site.

 

An update on DD Sally....she has Shingles and is very poorly.

Please say a little prayer for her.....thank you.
