Vintage Ancestry..

This is a collage I've made this morning with an old photo of my Great Grandparents. I can just remember my G Grandmother. I'm adding this picture to the Digitalmania challenge, where this week the challenge is Vintage.
You all know how my favourite thing is vintage so I've enjoyed doing several pics for the challenge. You are very free to see them on my Flickr site, just click in the box at the top of my sidebar. I hope you enjoy.

I'm feeling better thank God! I feel as if I've turned the corner at last. Thinking of the past and things I am grateful for, I thought I'd add this.

Thank you Lord for the special times,
Those days I set apart.
The times of joy and happiness
Are stored within my heart.
Thank you for the days of youth
When all the world was new,
When plans and dreams were only schemes
That never would come true.

Thank you for those other times
When things went sadly wrong.
Through love and care and answered prayer
You helped me to be strong.
For all the happy special times,
So many I recall,
For joy and tears throughout the years,
Lord, thank You for them all.

Iris Hesselden

I wish you all a happy and peaceful Weekend.

Oh, June, I'm sorry you haven't been well. It has really been quite the year for you and Freddie, hasn't it?

I am currently enduring another kidney stone flare-up. Not sure if you remember, but I had one last winter, and it landed me in the ER for a 4-hour morphine drip. The pain this year, thankfully, has been manageable, so I haven't had to make the ER trip. These blasted stones have been a part of my life since 2005, flaring up usually once a year.

The poem you shared is beautiful. I am going to copy it down and put it on my bulletin board.

Finally, I love the collage! What a lovely way to remember your great-grandparents.

Would you believe that I had 2 of my great-grandmothers until I was nearly 30 years old! They both lived until well into their 90's. One of them I didn't much care for, but the other one, I totally adored. I also had a great-grandfather (not the spouse of either of the great-grandmothers) until I was about 13, and I totally adored him too.

Love and hugs,
Patti
