The challenge on SoArtful this week was to make a collage of/about Georgia O'Keeffe. I admit I had never heard of this very prolific American artist, 1887 -1986. I believe she was well before her time, keeping true to her vision. She painted landscapes and flowers, finding abstract forms in nature.
My collage takes one of her paintings for the background, layered with Sherry's rose and a portrait of the lady herself.
Thank you for the rose Sherry, I hope you don't mind! xx
Thank you for looking and have a happy Sunday. xxx

This is stunning, June! I thought that rose looked a little familiar :). Of course I don't mind that you borrowed it! I'm honored.
Hugs,
Sherry
Hi June - how are you? Well I hope.
Love this image of Georgia O'Keeffe and you have so cleverly incorporated it into one of her works of art. The colours blend so well and the flower finishes it perfectly.
Have a great Sunday.

a beautiful portrait of the artist.
AWESOME work, June!
June this is marvellous! I love how the flower and the "fabric" drape around her head... Beautiful! A madonna...
Super fantastical, June! It is so strong and beautiful. Love that you included the rose.

Oh wow June this is fantastic, you are so clever. x
You've captured the feeling of her work beautifully! I've never seen her work in person, but her flowers were amazing.

Did you change your header, or do the blues and greens really stand out now since you've used oranges, beige, and reds in your collages lately? Anyway, it's very lovely!
This is really quite striking and a bit "haunting" to look at!!! Great creation June!! So glad you've inspired us at So Artful!!
