A Yellow Rose..

Something to brighten up yet another very dull day.
The absence of sunshine and brightness at this time of year
can make so many feel low and depressed so I hope
it will cheer you a bit.

Friends are those rare people who ask how we are---and then
wait to listen to the answer.

A good friend is one who neither looks down on you..
nor keeps up with you

Just be Thankful for what we have.....

I know I say this on frequent occasions, June, but your blog is a joy to visit. These two pictures are exquisite and meaningful and STUNNING. Wonderful artwork as always.

June- Both of these are wonderful, each in its own way. The beautiful yellow rose is certainly an antidote to the gloom of winter (something I tend to feel too strongly at times!). I keep a few spring/summer images near my computer to remind me in winter that the sun will definitely re-appear in a few months. This will be one of them. Your "Freedom" collage is dramatic and powerful, as well.

Yay Junie!! Love the new profile portrait, when you've got it, FLAUNT IT, right? Your yellow rose is a real joy-spreader! What a contrast to the timely content of the Freedom??? piece. The nettng overlay is very effective, but I must tell you, the previous "Love" piece had me flummoxed. As a graphic arts person from way back, I wondered why you had used a reproduction of such poor resolution for this piece? Until I enlarged it and saw that the effect was the result of a lace overlay, not Benday dots, LOL! It is quite clear what you're doing in the Freedom piece.

I don't doubt you were a "looker" when you were young (weren't we all?) So, how about posting some photos from your salad days? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see them!

Big hugs,

Diane

The rose collage is so rich and warm and welcome on this cold, gray day here. So beautiful!

The second one is indeed very powerful. God may have created woman second, but he said for man and woman to marry and become one flesh. Women were never meant to be looked down upon. Even Adam said, "At last, bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh." He was very thankful for God's gift.

A New Year and a NEW look to your blog! I really like it and LOVE your new photo, too! Seems there are alot of us in 'blog-land' who have refreshed our blogs this week!
Your rose is georgeous. Yellow roses are a favorite of mine. They smell better than red and the color is so happy.
Great pieces June. Seems your muse is in high swing!
Happy New Year to you, my friend!
Hugs,
Jan
