Armistice Day..

It is coming up to 11am. as I write this. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
                                                WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
My Mother's brother was blown up on a minesweeper in WW11 aged just 21.

So many, far too many lives have been lost since that Armistice Day treaty was signed. A second World War, conflicts all over the world. Malaya, Korea, Vietnam, the Falklands, the Middle East and Iraq and now Afghanistan. Right up to the present day.  Now we are fighting terrorism. I have no idea what solution anyone could suggest. Well I have but unfortunately all these people do not think as I do.
I just pray that one day, one day very soon, we may have Peace in the world.
Meanwhile I pray God will comfort all those who have recently lost dear ones in these awful conflicts.

The Eleventh hour has passed as I write - my grandad suffered gassing in the First World War - and the suffering was immense. To this present day humans still inflict suffering and pain on others. Sometimes the world learns nothing.
I join you wholeheartedly in your prayer for Peace. xx

I personally believe that all these horrible wars are a fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy in Matthew chapter 24. They, along with all the other events taking place in our lifetime, are proof we are living in the last days. It won't be long before God brings us the peace he has promised in Psalm 37: 10, 11 and 29. Jesus said that when we see these things, we should raise ourselves erect, because our deliverance is getting near. (Luke 21: 28) That is why I always pray for God's will to be done on earth, just as it is in heaven.

You've said it all June.
We must never forget our brave men who fought in all the wars.
Those heroic souls whose last resting place was a battle field.
Many came home - broken spirits.

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the world and for leaving your comment.
Do come back again and I'll get out my prettiest teacups, and we'll chat some more!
Take care
hugs
Shane

Thank you June for this reminder. My great-grandfather was in trenches in Verdun in 1914-1948 and returned at home. My grandfather was prisoner in Berlin in 1940. Both did not understand why the men fought. Since there is always a place in the world or we fight. I hope that our prayers one day will be heard and that our rear-youngs children see a peace world.
Hugs.
