Today in our village hall, the second recycling effort took place. It works like this....
You take along anything unwanted and servicable. These are all placed on trestle tables and outside if they are large.
Then you can just take anything that takes your fancy, free...you are recycling other people's unwanted items.
They just have a couple of plastic bowls where you can place a small donation towards the cost of hiring the hall.
I went down on my scooter carrying a very large pile of books and a couple of casseroles between my legs on the footplate. They very kindly carried them in for me.
I was amazed at what was there and what people were bringing in. Garden tools, aluminium ladders, rugs, sewing machines, televisions, radios, china, glass, books, cushions, clocks, etc. etc.
I was very good, resisting a lot as himself said not to bring anything home!
But I did see a very small box (7" x 5") with a portable MP3 player, it looks new, there is a cd rom and cables in the bottom. I don't really know what to do with it yet but we'll see......
