The Goddess of Snowflakes...

I've Just come back from taking Algie for his walk.
I think the Godess of Snowflakes is appropriate for today as it's cold enough for snow.
The wind is bitter and I swear it comes straight from the Steppes!

I went to the funeral yesterday of a local boy who died suddenly at only 27.
A beautiful service and even with all the extra chairs there
was standing room only. We have a large church and it was filled.  All the village
has been so saddened and supportive to his family......

And now for Freddie, he was taken to Theatre last night to have the
gangrenous toe removed. All went well and he is fine. They leave the dressing on
untouched for 5 days so no sign of his coming home quite yet!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments and prayers.
I really appreciate it.

This is Fairy Layla. She's the daughter of a dear friend of mine.
So this picture was a collaboration between him and me.
She is grown up now and a sweet girl.

The news this morning from the hospital was Freddie had the
Angioplasty yesterday. He had a good night and is in good spirits.
So now we wait again for the next step.

I send my love to you all,

Three Muses...Altered Playing card

The Joker

I enjoyed this challenge. The background is from my stash. The Joker
was made from 3 different photos (Googled) and the
playing cards were also found online.
I was pleased the way my Joker turned out.

Freddie is still in hospital. And still no sign of the Angioplastry being done.
They said at the beginning there was a waiting list of up to 3 weeks.....
He seems well in himself but fed up as you can imagine.

Thanks for viewing my Joker
Have a great day.

Take a Word...Vintage..

The Butterfly Girls.

The Little Violinist

One of my favourite subjects this week. Entirely in my comfort zone!
I'm sorry these are from my files but with everything going on around me
I seem unable to concentrate.
The Butterfly Girls, I'm sure you'll recognise most everything from Itkupilli!
The little boy etc. came from Google Images.

Thank you for looking and I hope your week starts with a smile!

Something different...

I've been trying something a bit different. A freer, looser style.
Quite a change from my usual vintage looking images.

I recently commissioned a wonderful Silversmith, also a personal friend, to make me a ring.
I had a very old cameo, a present from my stepfather to my mother that I had after she died.
It was too small and unnoticeable to wear as a brooch and I was afraid I would lose it.I had often thought it would make a great ring so I finally got around to it.

She brought it to me finished yesterday and I am thrilled. It is set on a wide silver band that has been edged in gold. The cameo is also edged in gold. I am not the best photographer in the world but I'll do my best. A totally unique piece. The only one in the world!
I hope you can get the idea from the pictures!

Not much news about Freddie. He did go and have his eye appointment yesterday. They wheeled him down to another department.
So it's still wait and see. He should have the angioplasty next week and then we'll see if they remove the offending toe! Patience is a virtue.

Have a great weekend dear friends,

Goddesses...

Over the last few weeks I have been designing a Series of Goddesses.
Above is the Goddess of Trees, in her Autumn garb
.

This is the Goddess of Music.

And this, the Goddess of the Night.
I hope you like them.

It's now 8 days Freddie's been in hospital. I hope they are going to do
the angioplasty next week.
Stanley and Jenny are seeing him this afternoon.

It's late in the afternoon so I wish you all a pleasant evening!

Gone with the wind...3M...

It's Wednesday! It's the day to put our challenges up
for the Three Muses.
So today here is something that came to my mind.....
Almost gone with the Wind!

My own manipulated background and figures and duck Googled
and manipulated.
Perhaps I should have gone with 'deep and meaningful' but
my Muse chose to go the other way!

Thanks for looking dear friends and for leaving a comment.

Lady Katz....

I love to find old paintings where I can remove their heads (poor dears!) and pop on a sweet puss.
The backgrounds are by Valentina Creations.

Freddie has had a scan on his leg and we are awaiting the next step...hopefully I'll hear today.

I can see large bits of blue sky so I may venture out today with His Majesty.

Hope you all have a magical day,

TAW...FEATHERED FRIENDS

The challenge this week is Feathered friends on Take a Word.
I so enjoyed this challenge and really had fun with it,
with the help of Tangie Baxter!

Thank the Lord I still have time to play and create, with Algie sitting
on a chair beside me.
No more news from the hospital. I don't think they do much at weekends.
Still he's comfortable and in the best place.

Thank you for your kind messages. I appreciate them.
Have a wonderful day!

A Little Miracle..

Something we all need in our lives....Little Miracles...

I waited all day Thursday for the phone call to say they were sending Freddie home.
Finally we rang late afternoon and No, they were keeping him in.....
Ringing Friday it is like trying to get blood out of a stone, trying to get information.
I had to ask if he was on an intravenous anti-biotic drip! And I had to ask about the X-ray results on his foot. Luckily the infection hadn't got into the bone. Why couldn't they tell me that. They know I'm his wife for God's sake! It's so frustrating.

Now they have moved him to another ward where he is under a Vascular team.
My son and DIL are going to see him this afternoon and will put themselves out to get information.
At the moment I am just not well enough to visit but I know he's in the best place.

So..........wishing you all a great weekend,
Love and hugs,

Old Dolls

I was browsing the other day to see if I could find a doll like my Peggy. She is a composition doll with a cloth body, just like the top picture. The bottom picture is her head exactly but mine has painted eyes. I think she was given to me about 1940 and she looks a bit worse for wear now but she is greatly treasured. She is in a painted chest at the moment. Perhaps we need a Photographic session!

Well last night Freddie was taken into hospital. We were not sure if it was a stroke (no), reaction to medication or infection, maybe both. he was very disorientated and couldn't stand so away he went.
Now this morning they tell me at the hospital he may come home today. he looked so ill last night I can't imagine how he's recovered today........ So we shall see..........

                                                        Love and Hugs everyone,

Three Muses..Footprints..

Well I thought this was rather a different challenge.
Miss Ann has asked us to decorate a footprint (or two).
So here is mine.......

I'm not sure if this is what she had in mind but this is where
my Muse took me.
Looking forward to seeing all your ideas!

Thanks so much for your visit,
Love and Hugs

Magazine Covers....

These old magazine covers were designed for a challenge on Digitalmania, on Flickr. Something in the style of Leyendecker, a very famous artist in the 20's and 30's.

I make so many collages with just cat heads on human bodies, I thought I'd use some pretty kitties for a change.
I added the butterflies and background of course but the circular fractal was a gift from my friend markus/winkler5.
I can just imagine them playing and chasing butterflies!

Well the rain has stopped and there's a blue sky which always lifts my spirits.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

We Will Remember Them....

Who can gaze on a field of poppies without remembering....?
This weekend, people all over the world will come together to do just that.

At the going down of the sun
and in the morning,
We will remember them.

A Far Eastern feeling..

The Chinese Girl

Leaves of Love
And of course the script means Love.

A beautiful sunny and fresh day. I have been to Chapel with Algie but first we went round the quay where there was a very high tide. He is so good in Chapel. After a bark and tail wag to greet his friends, two especially he loves (!) he settles in my arms and is quiet during the little service. Then we have coffee and a biscuit and chat which he also enjoys.

My poor Freddie has another bad infection, going up his leg so I rang the doctor and he has two lots of strong anti'b's. I hope they do the trick as I don't like to see him in so much pain.

Upwards and Onwards as Pooh says!
I hope you are all fit and well,
Love and Hugs

3M.. Grunge/print Background

Good morning m'dears!
This is my challenge for the Three Muses this week.
Lovely to play in a messy, grungy look.
My father had a red setter and this dog reminded me of him.
Everything here Googled.
Looking forward to seeing all your work.
Thanks for your visit.

Two of my Favourites...

The Goddess of all Fantasies

The Goddess of all Sweet Dreams

These are two pictures I made recently, with my own backgrounds
and I spent quite a bit of time on them.
However I was greatly pleased with them.

Yesterday I went to see a very dear old friend. We lived next door to each other for years. Now she is in a nursing home and quite poorly. However she looked wonderful with her lovely smile.
I had to walk quite a way (for me) from where I parked on my crutches. Still I managed.

This morning I took Algie out with the scooter. The wind is blowing straight from Russia I think, bitterly cold and I was done up like an Eskimo! Algie wore his coat but I think he needs a hat and a pair of goggles. my face was frozen when we got back home.

Well I hope one of the Goddesses visits you with sweet dreams.

Purple Passion..

I made this Pattern with the butterflies, swirls and the lady's portrait.
It took me a bit of time....

Then with one or two clicks of the mouse turned it into this.
Oh the wonders of Photoshop!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts! I am feeling much better. In fact I have had my toenails clipped this morning and my flu jab! The car passed its MOT yesterday so we are all ready to fly! LOL!
Algie has been out for his walkies this morning so I've had plenty of fresh air.
Then in the post came an appointment for my Coronary Heart Disease annual review.
It's all or nothing in this household!
I managed to frighten my little tricksters last night with a white sheet and a few Whoooo-hoos.
They were not expecting that! Lovely squeals from the children who filled the kitchen!

Have a great weekend coming up,
Love and Hugs
