My last Mona (for a while anyhow). Made again for
the challenge on Digitalmania.
Who said a postcard can't be square?

I found this on my friend Ann's Facebook page. I hardly use Facebook, only to see my family photos when they post. I'm sure Ann won't mind me showing you. I think it's very apt, don't you?

Wishing you all a happy Sunday!
Love and hugs,

Anyway, here is another altered Mona I've made for the
Digitalmania challenge. I'm rather fond of this one.

Queen of Hearts...3 M..

The Three Muses have asked for the Queen of Hearts for this Boxing Day challenge. This could go in so many directions but I decided to use my Royal Worcester porcelain figurine, named Queen of Hearts, I have the set of these and they are so beautifully moulded and painted. My own blended background and a few pieces found and Voila!! I hope you like it.

I also hope you had a wonderful day yesterday. Mine was filled with music, laughter, the happy noise  of children and love! Lots of love! Today I am giving my poor overloaded stomach a rest as there was such glorious food, all prepared by my dear daughter and son in law.  Thank you darlings!

                                                 Love to everyone,

TAW Moo....

The challenge on Take a Word is Moo! For those who don't know what a Moo is (I didn''t  either!) it is a very small card measuring 1.10" x 2.8" or the metric equivalent.
So I've made three Moos and placed them on a larger background to make a card.
Thanks for looking. Don't forget to hang up your stockings tonight!
                                                          Happy Christmas!

Sunday..

Two very  different pictures today;
Above is 'Colour me softly'.
I was experimenting as usual and must have felt in a
soft and gentle mood. I was pleased with the result.

And this one is
'A sword for St. Joan'.
I was also quite happy with this one.

The Star of Bethlehem rose high
As shepherd's homage drew them nigh
To see the babe in lowly stall,
And hear the angels' voices call
A benediction for the birth
of little Jesus, King on earth.

Blessings to you all,

3 M. Textures and layers.

The Three Muses  have asked for textures and layers this week.
It's always fun to play with them and I do this a lot.
The picture above is the original I started with that I made last year.
She has several textures in her making.
And below is what she looks like with more texture and
overlays added.

It's surprising what a difference it can make to your picture after having a play.

I think the simplest way for beginners to start is to duplicate your finished picture.
Working with this layer, very slightly reduce the opacity, then scroll through the list
of layers and see the difference it makes.
Select one you like and there you are.

Among all my readers this must be like  telling your grandma to suck eggs
so please forgive me.

Thanks for looking,
Big hugs from
June xx

Tis the Season..TAW Challenge..

I've given my card a pseudo medieval look
but the greeting and meaning is just the same.
Thank you so much Three Muses and Take a Word team!
You three are brilliant.
Greetings of the Season to everyone whatever you celebrate!

And the Rain Came..

Happy Sunday everyone!

We're getting so close to Christmas now. Some people are still pushing and  being shoved among the crowds trying to get the rest of their presents bought.
Some have already decorated their house and tree with coloured lights and glass baubles and tinsel.
We are so lucky if we have friends and family around us to share the peace and goodwill.
Unfortunately some will be alone and lonely and some will be sleeping on the streets.
Please spare a thought and a prayer for all those who are cold and hungry.....

I was lucky enough yesterday to go to a marvellous Christmas lunch and show in our village hall.
We have an organisation here that has been going now for 50 years who make this possible every Christmas. There were over 100 older people seated for a lunch of homemade soup, turkey with all the trimmings. prifiteroles with cream and chocolate sauce, followed by tiny bite sized mince pies, coffee and mints!
There were crackers and paper hats with us laughing at the mottoes and sherry and as much wine as you wanted!!
I sat with some very old friends who I knew from my teens so we had plenty of laughs. A wonderfully happy time.

Now I am having a quiet day to get over the excitement of it all.

Lots of love and many blessings
June xxxx

My Brother and Me...

You all know how much I love vintage so here's another little collage.
I thought it would make a change to put two completely different types of
art styles for the children. The little boy I found, (I love his boots and  breeches, or is it a dress?)
and the little girl was a freebie.
I had a friend tell me that she was going to be a ballet dancer and he
an opera singer because of their poses! What do you think?

I've been to have my hair cut ready for Christmas. Very short so long dangly earrings
will be in order!

Have a good day,
Love and Hugs

Jeanne d'Arc

Just having a play with found pictures of St. Joan and the church and  textures and layers.

Lovely blue sky and sunshine today but very cold.
I didn't go to the Carols in the Courtyard last night or the Chapel service this morning.
I have felt unwell with such a lot of pain and I couldn't walk
so I stayed at home in the warm.

I had some lovely visitors yesterday afternoon laden with presents and
'Auntie Debbie' came to give Algie his haircut.
I think we must have been talking at cross purposes as I wanted a short cut and his whiskers
trimmed but when he came in he didn't look like my Algie at all!
She had shaved his face until he looked just like as poodle!!
Poor little man. I didn't say anything and of course it will grow again but
he slept on me all night. cuddled into an old cardigan!

Three Muses Challenge..MALE..

Well here is my collage for the Three Muses Challenge this week.
I'll just say.....an old lady can dream, can't she?
At least I kept his clothes on! LOL!
At 1 degree Celsius here all day it'd be far too cold to take 'em off!

Thanks so much visiting and keep warm (if you're cold that is!)

Winter cometh...

It's getting colder and we've had a few sleety showers and snowy flurries.
So I've put up a new heading for December. The little girl in the centre reminds me of the  old song..

Every little girl would like to be
A fairy on the Christmas tree.
Up above the party dressed in white,
Shining in the candle light....

The found picture above I thought looked a happy one!
Red always looks Christmassy!

Wishing you all a very happy day.
Warm fuzzies and hugs,

TAW Challenge..Sewing..

The challenge tomorrow on Take a Word is Sewing. I used to do such a lot of sewing and dressmaking. I loved it. I made my own wedding dress and then my son's Christening gown which has been worn by many children in the family. I made my daughter's wedding dress too.

When I found the illustration I used above I had to have it. It reminded me of myself when I first started sewing. I taught myself and started with a small dress for my sister which probably left a lot to be desired. LOL! Happy memories. Looking forward to seeing all the entries!
Thanks for looking and leaving a comment. have a lovely Sunday. Sending big hugs,

A Blue Dream ....

The Blue Dream

What else could I little call it? All in pretty shades of blue and lilac.
Just playing around as usual.

Yesterday was busy, with two trips down to the Post Office in the rain
and collecting a few bits for Freddie. The afternoon spent in packing a
few more pressies ready for collection.
Just that little effort exhausted me. I feel so tired....

Today I must put in an appearance at the big church Christmas Faire. Then
I must go on to town to sort my Car tax...sigh....
I'm not sure if I can fit in a visit to an old friend as well, we'll see.

At least it's dry this morning, what a blessing! Algie has missed his runs
as it has been so wet and cold, so that has to be fitted in as well.
I bought him a little soft toy, Rudolph and he adores it, tossing it in the
air and chasing it about. The first thing he did was bite off Rudolph's red nose!

Loving thoughts to you all,
June  xxxxx

Stella Rose...again...

I said I'd fallen in love with the little image of Stella Rose!
Well here she is again with more adventures.
I hope she gives you a smile!

It's bright and very cold this morning so I think I'll go to Chapel in the car.
Freddie is waiting for a hospital car to take him to Norwich again for another appointment
to see how his foot is progressing. I do hope the anti-b's have helped!
So I'll go and get myself ready now.
Hope you all have a fine day.
Love and Hugs

Three Muses Challenge..Gothic Arch on Wednesday

The Three Muses have asked for a Gothic Arch with a touch of red for their challenge this week.
So here is my picture...the hero coming to rescue the fair damsel in distress.

And perhaps this is the fair, lonely damsel he's coming to rescue!

Thanks so much for your visit and comment. It is much appreciated. Please go along to see the fantastic sample made by the lovely Ann. And looking forward to see the other entries!  xxx

I am the Future..

I am the Future.

I found this little face and had to have a play with textures and layers.

There are colds, sore throats and bugs in the family.
Hope they are all gone for Christmas.
So far we are bug free!! Hope you are too!

Sweet Sunday

I thought we'd have a touch of fantasty and fairies for Sunday.
This is Stella Rose and the Tulip Fairies.

Stella Rose is such a sweetie, generously given by Mary Bailey.
The fairies found online and the background my own again.
I hope you like her. I'm sure I shall use her again.

The sun is shining today, cold and fresh but glorious!
And we are going out to lunch with my cousin Freddie and Martin.
It is also my darling son Stanley's Birthday today so
Happy, happy birthday, sweetheart.

I hope you are all having a beautiful day too!

Paris..

Paris! I think we all have fabulous dreams of Paris, just to hear the name!
I have only spent a fleeting visit, passing through, though we did buy
some Parisian fancy cakes! Delicious.
Those of you who have been lucky enough to stay and see the sights
must have some happy memories.
I love to make pictures  about Paris so here's another!
Have a fabulous weekend,
