As we are coming up to the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty I made this collage, a little while ago for June at Dezinaworld. It also harks back to her Coronation when she drove through London in her Golden Coach. I remember that very well. We had a concert in the old Legion Hall and I sang 'In a Golden Coach' on stage. I don't know how many of you remember that song that came out 60 years ago! Happy memories. She has served this country well and has always put duty first.
So God Save the Queen!!
This is the song from 60 years ago.
In a golden coach there's a heart of gold
Riding through old London Town.
With the sweetest queen the worlds ever seen,
Wearing a golden crown.
As she rides in State through the palace gate,
Her beauty the whole world can see.
In a golden coach there's a heart of gold
That belongs to you and me.

thats a lovely tribute Junie!
I'm right there with you, June, celebrating our lovely queen. She has always served us so well. I don't know the song, though.
This sure brings back memories. I was in grade school and our class watched this. Years and years later, I saw her beautiful golden coach during a my trim to London. My goodness where does the time go. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for sharing June! The collage is so inspiring and patriotic. I also love the writing for the background very creative. My mom recently gave me my grandpa's letters to grandma; I treasure them a lot and will soon paint a good old still life.
Thank you,
Irina
I think you deserve a ride in that coach, too! Truly a beautiful celebration of Her Majesty's reign.
Things are still not going well at our end, but I wanted to stop in and say hello!
Speaking to you about this, and our little "Duet" over the phone had me sniffing!!! Nice to find a key we can STILL sing in!!!! Up The Malletts Dearest Junie xx
Thank you all for your comments. As you can guess by Freddie's comment, we sang a duet over the phone.
Bless you dearest freddie.xxxx
