The Forgetting Room...

Here we are at the eve of another year. What mysteries, magic,
troubles and woes will the next one hold I wonder......
We all manage to weather the storms somehow, large or small.
Most are of no importance at all so I put them in my
Forgetting Room, lock the door and let them disappear.

This is the first New Year I shall see in alone. Freddie has
been in hospital 7 weeks now and I still have no idea when
he'll be home.
Life goes on...order groceries.... prescriptions....heating oil..
whatever.... it's been a bit of a struggle with this bronchitis
and more than usual pain. Still I am thankful for my family,
my little dog, and all my wonderful friends in Blogland
and on the WWW! You give me strength!

I send you all my love and thanks,
June xxxx

TAW..A New Year..

This is my New Year card for the Take a Word Challenge.
I've gone with old vintage cards found on Google
but my message is sincere.
You out there, on the World Wide Web, are all dear
friends to me and my lifesavers.
I wish you all everything you could wish yourselves for 2014.

Much love and big hugs,
June xxxx

Perfect..

I am moving away from all the Christmas images for a bit.
I have put these on today just to remind you all, dear friends,
that you are perfect human beings, made in God's image
and you are all unique, one of a kind!
It doesn't matter if you are fat or thin, tall or short,
young or old, we are all perfect and unique!
I have to remind myself this too as I often forget.

Algie and I were so tired yesterday after all the festivities.
I had a snooze in the afternoon and he slept almost all day!

Loving wishes to you all,
June xxx

Christmas Eve...

These are my postcards for the Mail Art challenge on Three Muses
if anyone has time to visit!
You'll all be busy basting the turkey!

I had a nice phone call from my son in France. He said the weather is lovely!
Also phone calls from Freddie. He's doing very well medically but has
got to gain some strength to get up from the chair and walk,
before they'll let him come home.
He's very fed up and misses home such a lot.
My cold is still ongoing with a bad cough too...

Love and seasonal Greetings to everyone!

Wings...

These three pictures also have a common thread.....Wings.
I hope you enjoy them.

Well Freddie sounds more like himself so at last he's feeling better.
Yesterday his cousins Trevor and Pansy visited.
As he doesn't see them that often it was great for him.
And last night Grandson Richard went and he thought how
well he looked now. He's been trying to walk this morning
and getting there slowly with some sort of special boot.
I am so glad at the improvement!
I just wish there was some improvement to my head cold.....

Take care everyone and I hope you've all
just about finished your gift wrapping!
Love and Hugs

Whisperings...

I think these three collages have a compatible theme as you look at them.
The top one is definitely saying Whisper....
The next one I called Whispering leaves.
The bottom one is telling a story but she must be a Horse Whisperer.

Well talking to the staff at the hospital there are definite 'whispers'
about Freddie coming home!!
I guess there'll have to be a care package of some sort
arranged first so I'm hoping!
It will seem strange after all these weeks alone...
I can't visit tonight as I have a dreadful sore throat and head cold.

Upwards and Onwards,
Love and Hugs

White Space...3M...

This week our lovely friends at the Three Muses
have asked us to design something with White Space.
I have recently designed a few in that genre but these are new.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your ideas!

Yesterday they took the drains out of Freddie's wound and I
think he's progressing, albeit very slowly.
Now I have developed a sore throat and a head cold
so I'm feeling yucky! LOL!

Thank you for your visits and especially your comments.
Love and hugs

Once Upon a Time...

It's such a dull old day here I  thought I'd post a few Once Upon a Time pics to brighten the day a bit.
You can usually find me away with the fairies.

Dear SIL John took me to see Freddie last night. His one good eye is failing, due no doubt to the Diabetes. He has very little strength and looks so frail it breaks my heart.
He is as cheerful as he can be and is still in bed.
The consultant had a look at his wound today and seemed pleased I was told.

So we continue to take one day at a time......

Love to you all,
June xxx

AFRICA...3M challenge..

Whenever I hear 'Africa' my first thoughts are always 'the children'.
Three Muses gave us the theme of Africa for the challenge this
week  and here is my simple collage.

Thank you so much for your comments.

The news about Freddie this morning is that he's had half his
foot amputated yesterday afternoon.
The operation went well and he's fine.
I shall see him tomorrow night.

Love and hugs

Take a Word...Angel...

I call this Andrew's Angel as my friend Andrew let me use his photo!
I added a Googled background, the cross and the rose.
I like the use of stone angels in art. They are so interesting and weather worn.
This is my entry for this week's challenge on take a Word.

Just spoken to the hospital. Freddie has had his breakfast and is now sitting
in his chair. I should be bored out of my mind, sitting there all day with
nothing to do. It would send me crazy. Poor old thing, I feel so for him....

Have a great day everyone,

LOVE IS ......

I should be having my Son One and Daughter Two visit today so that will be nice.
And my Granddaughter and her partner are here for the weekend.

Algie and I have been to the Parish Church this morning for their huge
Christmas Fair. They had a Hog Roast so I had my lunch there.
So much meat, Algie enjoyed the feast too.
It was so crowded I had difficulty getting around so I didn't see everything.
But it was nice to get out and have some fresh air.

I did go down to see the damage the sea has done to our Duck Pond.
There is nowhere for the water to go so all the marshes are covered
from here to the next two villages.

Be safe everyone,
Love and Hugs

Devastation..

Just look at the mess the water leaves behind when the tide recedes a bit. This is the bottom of Blakeney High Street. The flood was on a par with the 1953 flood, which I remember well.

Floating debris

Blakeney underwater.

My family went down last night to watch the awesome destruction of the sea just in our village. The waves were pouring over the bank like a waterfall and the Duck Pond has completely gone.
My grandson said it was like watching the end of the world.
I feel gutted especially for Cobo who has worked so hard for years to make our Duck Pond so beautiful with thousands of pounds worth of ducks.
I spoke to him a while ago and he had been down to see the damage and is now trying a rescue operation as the black swans are walking about the street.
I  fear there won't be many of the ducks left as they will have drowned.
We were without electricity for a few hours but many are still without.

This devastation has happened all down our East Coast with many homes either lost or flooded. People have had to be evacuated and they must dread what they will find when they return home.
Nothing is worse than the mess left behind after a flood like this.
I feel so sorry for them but thank God I don't think there is any loss of life.

Take care everyone,
June xxx

A VINTAGE MIX....

 Sweet, sweet Music.
 My little Russian Princess
 Long Ago and Far Away.
Lost in Time.

I thought I'd do some catching up today with some of my vintage montages.
A lovely phone call from a friend ( Veronica ) in Chesterfield this morning.
A gorgeous handmade card, full of scrolls and flowers from my dear friend Cheryl
and my first Christmas card from my cousin Freddie.

Richard came yesterday to help me wrap the large presents. They're all
getting brown paper packages tied up with string this year!
Great fun with Algie wanting to help.

Then Sally took me to Norwich to see Freddie last night with John dog sitting!
He's been in 3 weeks already and the first time I've been well enough to go
and see him. He looked better than I last saw him and Sally said better
than last week. He was sitting in a chair so I cut his fingernails while we
were there. They are doing a new treatment now....Maggots!
Of course he was pleased to see us and I him!
Sadly it will be some weeks before he's home and
will be in hospital for Christmas.

Upwards and Onwards....Algie and I went in the car this morning to
Chapel. We are promised gales, high tides and flood alerts again.

Take care everyone and keep warm.
Big Hugs

3M..Positive Affirmations...

A lovely challenge this week. We've been asked to make an
art journal page with a positive quote or affirmation.
So the time arrived to open my little book of quotes I'd saved.
and I chose these two.
Thanks so much for looking.
Love and hugs
