I used to sing this little song when I was about 7, (centuries ago!)My little friend Janet went to dancing classes, she had pretty curls, dancing shoes and sparkly dresses and I quite envied her, as my Mum couldn't afford for me to have those pleasures.
That's where the song and the memories come from.
