Feeling Fragile..

I have so many pictures in my files I thought I'd put some up

for you to see.

It just gives me pleasure to work on something beautiful.

There is so much in this world that is ugly and hateful that I can do nothing about.  So  I choose to immerse myself in another world. It reduces pain and stress for me and in it I can feel content. I can no longer go out and enjoy the hustle and bustle of shopping and everyday life. But I can travel to faraway places in the comfort of my chair, with the help of letters, email and photos I can view, courtesy of my many online friends.

I had chest pains last night so I am feeling a bit fragile. 

By tonight I shall feel well enough to face the onslaught of children who are all going

to try and frighten me in their costumes, face paint and fanged teeth!

Don't be afraid.....be terrified!

Thank the good Lord the storm passed us by safely.

We just caught the edge of it.

Unfortunately 4 people died with falling trees crushing cars and houses.

Others were left with massive property damage.

At least they gave plenty of warning.

My picture today is for Hallowe'en.

The grandchildren will be round to scare me in the dark

with parents in tow.

TAW..Purple and Green..

The Challenge this week on Take a Word is to use Purple and Green colours.

So I've used them in my background that I made and painted.

The cross is a wooden icon cross that I bought last week.

 I thought it was so beautiful I'd use it for the challenge.

I hope we don't get too much wind tonight and hope everyone

As well as altering pictures of the Mona Lisa, another favourite

of mine is to turn cats into humans!

I love to find beautiful paintings or photos, like the Vamp Cat, above.

This was a 1950 designer dress, so beautiful!

We've been told by the Weathermen to 'batten down the hatches' as there are very strong winds about. It could do lots of damage wherever it lands.

I've just had a lovely visit from my granddaughter Rebecca and her partner Donna.

Wonderful to see them looking so happy.

The Wonderful Mona..

I love to find Old Master's paintings and fit Mona into them somehow with a new background.

So here's a couple more. I have quite a collection now.

I always think she looks so elegant in these costumes.

And I think she must be the most altered painting of all time!

Well the weekend is upon us once again. The shops are all geared up for Hallowe'en  

and the shopping channels on TV have had Christmas trees up for ages.

I think it takes a lot of the joy out of Christmas. It's a bit of a letdown when it gets here and nobody thinks to mention the reason for the season! In the States they just say 'Happy Holidays!'

I wonder what your thoughts are....?

I am back in business again and he has saved my work.

Working  on the laptop with no resources that I have on my main PC

The Little Cavalier...

 Hello dear friends and followers.


I've just managed to put this old picture up from my laptop
with great difficulty.
I have been hacked on my main computer with all my work on.
 Much is saved on an external hard drive but a lot of latest work and challenges are not.
The crash is affecting this one as I am having difficulty doing a lot of things.
I had my technician in yesterday and he has now taken the tower away
but I am hopeful! He can usually work miracles so fingers crossed.
He says he loves a challenge, especially when he comes to me!!

The trouble has been with people from India accessing my computer and
they want money to fix it.
SO BEWARE!

So till I am in business again

I have told you before about my cousin Freddie's friend Neil who has a large Hug of bears who tell amazings stories and get up to all sorts of mischief.

This is what I received this morning......

 

'He now has Brian Badger joined the Bearables, who has escaped from down South, where some of his family have been gassed.....he's hiding scared in the downstairs privvy, despite all efforts of PInky et al, to embrace him into the family. he has a certificate to prove he is NOT a TB carrier.........(How does Neil think of all this?) Apparently, he was tempted out last night with a fricassee of partridge, & a Farleys Rusk......Neil says it's a job to prevent Pinky, Pasquale, Perdita, & all of them marching en masse down South carrying placards saying "Fair Deal for Badgers".......& "Murdering Badgers Stinks"!'

 

I wish I had that imagination!

Wind and High Tides..

 

These are photos I took yesterday morning of the high tide we had, covering the marsh and road along the quay. Cars are usually parked near the Bank but here you see the water going right up to it, with people standing there watching.

In the top and bottom picture you can see on the far horizon the waves crashing on the beach.

To see this sight with the millions of gallons of water is awesome and you feel quite puny against it's

might. I could hardly keep my feet in the wind and you can see my shadow

in the third picture.

All along the East coast there were watchers afraid of flooding.

 



A Favourite Artist..

 

One of my very favourite artists is Csaba Markus, a Hungarian born artist

now living and working I think in the States.

I just love his beautiful women, dressed in  transparent veils and with

their fantastic headwear.

Here I have extracted three of them and put them with Ganesha and Buddha.

The backgrounds and elements come from a free kit of India, such beautifully

warm and spicy colours.

Three Muses Challenge.....Rain/Umbrella...

 

I found everything in this collage on Google, including 3 backgrounds

cut and blended. Even the rain overlay.

I call it The Balancing Act.

 

As a little side note, I find it sad when you attempt to give a comment to

everyone and only about 50% return the compliment.

I always appreciate your comments and it is always cheering to get one back.

I don't mean to gripe as I know everyone is busy but just my opinion.

Away with the Fairies once again...

 

Once again I am away with the Fairies.

One of my favourite places to be!

There is a great saying.....'Don't act your age, act your shoe size!'

That's always going to be my excuse, anyway!

I prefer to think of happier things, rather than wars and murders. 

 

It's my grandson's wife's birthday today and we've been invited up to have a

cup of tea and birthday cake so that's something nice to look forward to.

We are into October and still having a beautiful Indian Summer here.

I took Algie out this morning and there were hundreds of visitors on the Quay.

The tide was going out and the men from the Sailing club were returning from their morning sail,

all ready to stow away their gear. Lovely to just sit and watch the world go by for half an hour.

The Explorers..

 

This little girl in both collages is the daughter of a great friend of mine.

He sent me photos and I carefully extracted her and placed her in

 different environments.

I added some little friends to be with her in the top one.

And the one below, whatever she has in her fingers is

getting real scrutiny.

I was pleased with the way they turned out.

 

I did have some sad news yesterday. my dear friend Martin, who I love like a

brother, has just lost his Mum.
