My piece for the Take a Word challenge.

I found the little girl on Google, likewise the amazing bicycle. It took ages to cut it out fairly well

 but I was pleased with it.

 

I had a wonderful day yesterday. Great  to see my Rebecca. It's such a lovely area and in five minutes you're in the countryside, with glorious walks. The work they have done and are doing in the house is amazing. I really envy that new kitchen.

So a quiet day today to recover!

Challenges...

 

These are a couple of pictures I have put on my Flickr site. I belong to a group called Digitalmania and they have a weekly challenge to make something in the style of an existing artist.

This week the artist was Stephanie Rubiano and I liked her style so I enjoyed the challenge.

 

Tomorrow my daughter is taking me to see my Granddaughter Rebecca.

I have never seen where she lives now with her partner. They are having their kitchen altered so I shall see that too.

 It's a 3 hour car journey, of course Sally has driven there many times but she will also rely on her Sat Nav! An early start  so I guess I shall be tired by the time we get home.

Catching Up.....

 

As I can't stop making pictures, I have an enormous folder of work that I haven't put on here.

So today here are three more.

The middle one has my own background and a picture of a beautiful hand made doll.

 

I've taken Algie for a walk this morning and then we went on to Chapel.

He is very excited when he first goes in to greet people but then he stays in my arms as quiet as the proverbial lamb when the service starts. I swear he says his prayers too....

And he enjoys coffee and biscuits after!

 

Now we are awaiting the grocery delivery and my daughter comes to clean this afternoon

so that's all the excitement for the day!

 

A lovely crisp and sunshiny Autumn day.

3M Challenge....Altered Art..

Many years ago I saw a two-headed man in a fairgeound exhibit.

 (mummified, not alive!!) So this is my two headed woman!

Take a Word....Mail Art..

 

 Mail Art is always a nice challenge and that is the choice this week

on Take a Word.

These are made with bits and pieces from my stash and courtesy of Google.

 

I am half way through my course of anti-b's and I am feeling much better

 but the cough will not go away and I'm still bringing up 'stuff'! UGH!

We've had a quiet weekend, enjoying the sunshine yesterday.

Algie is glad to be going out again on his scooter.

He loves to meet all the other dogs out for walks and it seems like

 a tail wagging competition when they meet.

STILL....

 

'Still' is the title of a new kit I've just got from Itkupilli.

She could be Alice Blue Gown...

 

I've felt quite unwell this week with a chest infection.

Unusually for me I called the doctor in. Perhaps it's good that I did

as I am now on antibiotics and am feeling better already.

What would we do without them?

My Lady of the Woods..

 

Here are two different versions of the same picture, the top one with  a

texture by kind permission of Smart Photo Editor.

There are some amazing textures in there and your picture comes out

with a look you could never create yourself. Fun to have a play!

 

I've just come back from a long trip on the scooter with Algie and the

wind is so cold I think I need a face mask!

Take a Word...SHOWBIZ!

 

A fun challenge this week from Take a Word.

So many things you can do with this but Cabaret came to mind.

 

 

Well I can never think of Come to the Cabaret old chum, or There's
no business like show business without

thinking of that wonderful star, Ethel Merman.

She always brought such magic and enthusiasm to the silver screen.

 

We have been told to 'batten down the hatches' today.

We are threatened with very high winds and rain.

So I took Algie out early and it was very cold and windy then....

A CHALLENGE...

These are a couple of the pictures I've made for a challenge on Flickr's

Some challenges I find hard but I love her style and enjoyed these.

 

The weather has quickly changed and with it my mood. I am fighting

depression yet again. I think all the family circumstances

 around me have contributed as well.

Three Muses... Reflections and Repetitions..

 

I had to have a real think about this challenge.

It didn't come easy and I hope it fits the bill!

I want to see what everyone else has done.

 

I have received the sweetest gift from Marfi in the States.

I won one of her mushrooms, made of felt and glittered with magic.

I have hung it at the side of this computer so I shall see it

every day and think of her.

PATTERN....

 

Having a play here. I took a design from a glass vase.

Altered the shape a bit to fill the space, and then played in Elements,

Liquify to make the pattern. You should have

a try, it's great fun!

 

More sad news from my sister again. This time she has lost her

beloved Jack, a tiny Yorkie. Two losses in two weeks. Unbelievable....

What can you say?       Nothing makes it any better.....

A New Kit...

This is the first picture I've made with this beautiful new kit

by Rebecca McMeen called Capri and the Swan.

It is absolutely gorgeous and I know I shall be using it a lot.

My favourite colour too.

 

I've been having more stress this morning trying to sort out my Visa card.

It has been compromised yet again so I am now waiting

for the FOURTH new card this year!  Sigh.....
I've only had this one since August 8th!!

Sad Saturday..

My grandson and family have lost their little white and black cat,

Malkie.

He was missing 5 days and Richard found him last night, he'd dragged

himself almost home. Rushed up to the vets where he stayed overnight.

Apparently cats are prone to blood clots in the brain and they lose the

use of their back legs. Almost like a stroke in humans.

He was almost 11 so a sad time for them.

 

And last week my sister lost her little Sugar, a pretty West Highland.

We all love our fur babies so, it's hard to say Goodbye.

FAMILY..

Here's the main man! Algie!

Looking clean, fluffy and gorgeous.

It's strange, when he was a baby his tummy was pink.

Now he's developed these dark pigmented patches.

 

Here he is saying 'I'm exhausted! Let me get some shut eye!'

 



 

And here is little Miss Skyela, looking all grown up and ready

for her first day at school!

She's never seen in a dress usually. She had a wonderful first day, chatting to me on the phone and telling me everything she had done. She loves it!

Take a Walk in the Forest..

 

...and keep your eyes wide open for you never know what you might see!

There are strange and beautiful elf-like beings and their tiny pets.

Did you see them through the trees....?

 

 

This is the same picture with a slightly different  treatment....

 

Algie had his Poodle Parlour Auntie call yesterday so he is trimmed,

bathed and looking and smelling beautiful for his trip to Chapel this morning.

Unfortunately, once he's let loose in the garden he won't stay

looking like that for very long! He's a dog!!

At the top 'She'.....well I don't know where she came from in my

mind but that's how she finished up. She started as an image from Itkupilli.

Ghosts at Burgh Castle

 

I have a sort of Love/Hate relationship with this man.

They did their courting here at Burgh Castle and I have photos of them there.

I was also possibly conceived there as I was born 6 months after they married.

He left when I was 7 and came back into my life in my thirties

when I had children of my own.

I hated the way he treated my mother but he was an eternal charmer.....
