TAW...Altered Mona Lisa....

I think in the modern art world we have chosen to alter the

famous Mona Lisa painting more than anything else.

So this is the challenge given by Take a Word this week.

So here are a couple of my altered Monas.

I must admit she is one of my favourite pictures to alter too!

3M..Dancers..

 

Here are my pictures for the Three Muses Challenge.

I found the beautiful Flamenco dancer online, cut her

 out of the photograph and tried to see what she would look like

with two different ideas. I also put her on black!

The Longest Day....

It was on the longest day...2009 that I lost my Mum.

5 years already, where has that time flown......?

This was always my favourite picture of her, taken when she 

was about 18. It always hung over my Nannie's piano.

Birthday Girl...

It's my birthday this weekend so I thought I'd give you a

I used then to baby sit for an American family staying in the village,

 Glenn was stationed nearby. They were a lovely family and I adored their baby! 

And he was a keen photographer.

So he took some pictures of me.

Misty Blue..

A gorgeous day again!

Yesterday my darling granddaughter and family were down for the

weekend. So my hair cut and toenails painted and general pampering.

They also cut Fred's hair so he's neat and tidy.....

Rebecca is blooming with her pregnancy! About 6 weeks to go!

Above is a lovely ballerina I 'borrowed' from Patrick McDonald's paintings,

with his kind permission of course. She has been slightly altered

and placed in the frame.

June 6th.

 Who could forget that today is the 70th. Anniversary of D-Day.

Not many of our old heroes left. They have so many memories 

of friends who fell beside them.

We have one in our family.....  JACK COBON.

This painting of the lady was made by a dear friend,

Patrick McDonald and used with his kind permission.

I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Today is also the Birthday of an old friend.

Three...

Sorrow.....3 M challenge...

It almost brought tears to my eyes as I made this....

I remember it so clearly, the afternoon a friend and I sat chatting

with the TV on watching it live, as it was happening.

Like some ghastly nightmare........

Alone and Together...

Feeling kinda romantic again......

I had a lovely day yesterday. My Sally and John took Colin and me

over to my son's, Stanley's  and Jenny's for lunch.

Barbecued meats, stuffed potatoes and loads of salad goodies.

A gorgeous blueberry and raspberry topped meringue!

Beautiful selection of cheeses

and I even had wine!

With all the talk and laughter between courses lunch took all afternoon!
