DREAM..

I bought this kit from Hidden Vintage Studios
called Tangled Up to have a play with.
So here's what I made.
The background is my own.

Algie has had his first real exercise this morning since his op,
running beside me on the scooter. It was only gentle exercise and
he rode on the footplate a lot of the way.
We met so many people we knew so it was lovely to chat and
Algie enjoyed the fuss.
This afternoon Freddie's niece is coming to visit so more chat!
Have a lovely day.

Spring Bubbles

Just something to brighten a rainy day!

I found the picture of the china figurine online and thought she would make
a pretty picture.

I didn't take Algie to Chapel this morning as I was chauffering. When I got back home he was so full of mischief, i think he's now back to his old self!
We haven't got back to the scooter and runs yet as it's so muddy, wet and rainy.

Have a nice day everyone.
And especial hugs to you dear Eugenia!

Three Muses Challenge..HATS..

                                                                    RETRO

.

                                                                          DIOR

I love the occasions when you can wear a hat. In winter it's OK to plonk something on your head to keep out the cold but a wooly hat is hardly glamourous! I have a lambskin hat that I've had for over 30 years.  It looks like a big creamy white powderpuff and when I wear it I feel a bit like Anna Karenina!

I had to make these two pictures for the hat challenge. Both quite simple but I think glamourous. The top one has a gorgeous painting by John Whitcomb and with the background retro pattern were found online. The colour in the background is my own work.

The one below is pure Paris in the 50's. The model and Paris street found online. When I think of hats, these are the kind of thing that come to my mind.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for your visit!

Some of my Crosses..

I mentioned the other day that I took my collection of crosses and crucifix
to show in Chapel and I forgot to take a photograph..
Well this morning I made a collage with photos of just some of them.
The crucifix in the centre is an old French Mother of Pearl one and I think my favourite.
The metal one top right has a real shell cameo in the centre.
The photo of the Murano glass one on the right doesn't show anywhere near its beauty.
It is a deep cobalt blue with gold veins and feels magical to hold. It has earrings to match.
Some are Avon or Sarah Coventry collectables from the 70's.
I have several more. The one on my bedroom wall I had given me when I was confirmed
in 1970 and it has hung there ever since. It has wood from Jerusalem and a metal front.
I have a large  silver cross set with amber and one the same size set with moonstones
that I have had for years.
Some of the really heavily decorated ones I would never wear but they are all special
and have memories and meaning for me.
I hope you enjoy them.

Love and blessings,

Something Fishy....

Something fishy...was asked for on take a Word this week so I finished up with this.
I think fishy Frank with his fabulous funky fins was feeling his feet, so to speak, if he had feet, but you know what I mean. Do you think he got lucky?

Algie is much better, thank you for all your kind messages.. He goes back for another check on Wednesday. Freddie also has a viusit to hospital on Wednesday re his latest infection.

Thank you for your visits and comments.

Peace Within...

Well it's been a hard couple of days. Poor little Algie, even with pain tablets, he was crying and occasionally letting out a scream which frightened the wits out of me. The vet told me it would probably be like that with the hernia job as well. I hate to see him like that.
Yesterday he went back to the vets for a check and everything is healing well so it's just a matter of time, hopefully. He's having another check next Wednesday so by then I  do hope he'll be feeling more his old self.

My sister is back from a holiday in Cyprus with friends in their villa. Apparently having a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful!  I've been to Malta lots of times to stay with my Maltese cousins but I've never been to Cyprus.

Last Thursday I took the service in Chapel and took along my collection of crosses and crucifix.
I didn't realise how many I'd got, starting with a wall cross given to me by our Rector when I was confirmed with my son, way back when. It's hung on my bedroom wall ever since. I took my camera with me but completely forgot to use it. I told you I was cracking up........LOL!

Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend, whatever the weather!

The Eyes Have it!

This is the title of the challenge set by the Three Muses this week. So here is my collage.....

I had fun with this one and her eyes sort of matched the background, my own, by the way.

Richard and I are taking Algie in to the vet's early this morning so I shall feel like a jelly all day!

Once we were.............

Once we were sweethearts...

Another vintage type collage with found elements and a lovely lady.
The background is my own.

It's turned so cold but no frost this morning. Instead some cold rain.
Algie went out at 6.30am for his morning constitutional and stayed out for
over 10 minutes so he didn't mind the rain.

The Nurse has just been to dress Freddie's feet and she thinks the infection is back.
He's only just finished another course of anti-b's so we wait for the doctor to
ring back. They may visit or they may just say more tablets.....Sigh....
I feel so sorry for him, having to put up with all this........

Never look back...

                                                                      Never look back...

Sometimes I think we spend too much time looking back. What I should have done....if only....what might have been....I just wish....
I am guilty of that too. I think it's just part of the human condition. But we can't change the past...it's gone...done with...leave it behind.
Sometimes things may have happened that hurt so much...or are almost too unthinkable to bear.
Some people may say 'get over it!'  But this one comment may hurt even more....
What we must do is put those thoughts into a box. A beautiful hand carved casket with lovely gold corners and fastenings. Lock them in tight and put this box far away in your memory. We know they are still there but they are hidden and can't hurt us any more.
Bring your thoughts back to today and be thankful for the God given gifts we have. We all have so much to be thankful for.....

A little reminder of sweet summer days.

Have a beautiful weekend my friends,

                                                             Love and many blessings,

I once was.....

I was having a play and experimenting the other day and came up with this collage. I put the faded child in the corner and called it  I once was.... I put it on my Flickr page and was amazed at the response! As of this morning I had 87 comments and awards, the most I'ver had.
Anyway I thought I'd show you all. Hope you like it.

At 6am there was thick fog outside but now it's cleared and looks a great day!
The cherry blossom tree in my neighbour's garden that I can see from my window here, is absolutely glowing in the sunlight.  Beautiful shades of gold with touches of red. It makes you feel good just to look at it!
So I leave Freddie 'in charge' today while I go to Chapel. Algie will come too. At the moment he is snoozing by my feet as I type this so I hope he behaves himself.
At the moment he has a barking thing and I don't know how to stop him so I hope he doesn't start that!

Hope you all have a wonderful day,
                                               Love and Hugs

Sunday's Service....

On Remembrance Sunday my Great Grandson Ashton was chosen to lay the wreath at the War Memorial for the Beavers. The two minutes silence is observed there and they then process to church. Bless his heart, you can see he took it so seriously.

Tradition.....

A couple of new collages for you to see, the first one in mainly red is called Tradition.
The second one was made with a kit called Ma Fleur, just to show I don't always do dark and grungy!

Algie is getting very boisterous! He's a real boy so this morning I have just rung the vet for him to go in next Wednesday to be neutered, chipped and to repair an umbilical hernia he's had since birth.
He won't have to stay overnight and I will fetch him home in the evening so I shall be worrying about that now! LOL!

                                                              Have a great day everyone,

TAW Challenge..PINK..

Happy Monday everyone! The challenge on Take a Word this week is
PINK!
I like Pink. Don't get me wrong but a couple of collages I made for this
challenge made me go UGH! at the finished result and I deleted them.
SO I am left with this one which I hope is not too sickly sweet.
I'm looking forward to seeing what other people have made 'cos my
mind went a bit blank and blase!

I forget to say it often but I want to welcome my new followers and say Thank You to everyone who follows me. I really do appreciate your support and comments!

Thanks for visiting!

Remembrance..

Tomorrow Remembrance Sunday falls exactly on November 11th.
Remember the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day,
and the eleventh month.
A time for remembering loved ones we have lost in all the conflicts
since the first Great War. The war to end all wars.
Sadly it was not to be.
As we remember them, we give thanks for their courage and sacrifice.
God bless them all and all the serving men and women today
who fight for our freedom.

The Silk Shawl..

Here's 'one I made earlier' as they say! Yesterday in fact. I thought I'd show you where I got the lady wearing the shawl. An old vintage photo. I browse Google for hours looking for old pictures like this that draw my attention. I imagined the shawl to be silk and full of colour so I hope you like my version. Can you see why I am drawn to them? I wonder who they were, what happened in their life, did they have children, does anyone treasure these photos as being their Great Grandmother? Did she lead a flamboyant life as is suggested here? All these things go through my mind as I'm working on these images and I try to bring them back to life a bit.

At the moment Algie is softly crying outside the living room door. The Nurse is here to dress Freddie's foot. They come twice a week for which we are very grateful but it seems my life is never my own. Do you know what I mean? There's always prescriptions to take in or to fetch. So many pills to prepare each day that they craze me. Don't tell me to do a week at a time, that would send me mental completely. Making my pictures keeps me sane...or as sane as I can be......

There.....I've had a good moan..so forgive me......
Wishing you all a lovely day,

Turn Back..

The top collage has a lovely lady extracted from a painting by Karol Bak
with a few bits and pieces added.

The bottom one has a woman from Csaba Markus.
Both are living artists and I love their work.

I've been to Chapel this morning with Algie who tried out his new seat
belt. He is good travelling in the car
and he was good in Chapel.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Three Muses Challenge..Masks..

Here are my collages for the Three Muses Challenge this week, which is Masks.
The top one, the background is a piece of blown glass found on Google and much altered.  The main figure which I love, I've had in my stash for years and can't remember  from whence it came.
The other elements are by Cajoline.

The bottom one was made for a challenge on Digitalmania on Flickr. I think the face was Cajoline too.
Thank you so much for looking. I can't wait to see what others have done for this challenge.

Queen of the Forest..

Just having a play the other day and this is the result.
I hope you enjoy.

Yesterday was fine and sunny and  I took Algie for a little walk/run.
You should see us, me wrapped up against the cold in woolly hat etc.
riding on the scooter with Algie trotting along beside me.
He's taken to the scooter so well so he's getting exercise and when
he's tired he hops on the scooter at my feet and enjoys
the scenery!
We have some fairly decent country roads here, it's not like a busy
street in town. He comes home with such a wet tummy and feet
and enjoys a rub down.
So I guess we shall be off again this morning while it's fine.

have a good day everyone!

Believe in Love...

Believe..... Not a very large word or one we've never heard of....
We probably use it fairly often...without thinking.
But BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
Why oh why do we just dismiss that idea....pooh pooh it..
Do we trust our judgement? Do we doubt that we are artists?
Everyone...yes everyone has a God given talent of one sort or another.
It is surely time we all began to really believe in ourselves!

The woman in the collage was extracted and digitally altered from
a painting by Karol Bak.

Have a wonderful weekend dear friends and don't forget to
BELIEVE!!
Big Hugs

Style......

Isn't it strange how times change? Fashion and figures! Look at this beauty. Slim, flat chested and almost boyish. To make her look more feminine, she dresses herself in lace. Of course she comes straight from the 1920's era.

Then with a change of style we come to this beauty. She is from a painting by Csaba Markus, who has a completely different idea of what beauty and femininity should be.
If we could only choose, I wonder what style we should pick. What fashion we would wear. Should there be a hat or a headdress. A long, slim dress or a frilly crinoline.  Well we can all dream.........
The background in this collage is my own by the way.

                                      Have a great day,
