Roadworks

Roadworks can be very annoying with many delays for motorists but sometimes they can lead to an unexpected and delightful detour.
This heppened to some friends in the north east of England.
They were travelling towards Barnard Castle but were diverted because of repairs.

They drove along a road they hadn't used before and were pleased to come upon a breathtaking view of Egglestone Abbey. The ancient ruins were nestling in a green and peaceful valley, a world away from the busy main roads.

As in life, our plans don't always go smoothly and we too must be prepared to change our route.
Never be afraid of the detour!
