I tried out the repaired scooter this morning to go to Chapel. It's a bit jerky on the lower speed so I had to use the top speed and turn it lower for a smoother ride. Sigh...
We had a beautiful little service. One member, Lilian, has been on a Retreat to Lindisfarne and told us this story.....
One early morning she wandered outside, there were cows very close by and on that peaceful morning one was about to calf. She was joined by one or two more people who all watched this miracle. Lilian was a nurse who had witnessed many births but she said there was just something about this time.
The calf was born and the cow licked and cleaned him. A few minutes more and the little calf struggled to its feet and the watchers all clapped their hands. It was a magical moment and the words of this hymn came to her....
Yes, God is good --in earth and sky,
From ocean depths and spreading wood,
Ten thousand voices seem to cry.
'God made us all and God is good.
So we all joined together and sang that beautiful hymn..........

June, what a neat story! I grew up on a farm, but I never witnessed a birth. We were sheltered, I think. I saw puppies and kittens minutes after they were born. Birth is always a miracle.
Oh how sweet, I wish I could witness that. Humpty is so funny....
Smiles,
Kim
Just a beautiful piece!
Every birth is a miracle. As I watched each of our four children being born, I knew it was proof that God exists. Any day now our grandson will be born. Another miracle! People need to be blaming the Devil for the bad things that happen, not assume it means God is dead or whatever they think.
