A great many people nowadays sometimes feel a need for silence.
Our lives are so hectic, so hurried that there seems little time left to be quiet, no space to hear that 'still small voice' which speaks to our inner being.
Some folk find it while out walking in the hills, or on the marsh or along the sea shore. Some while sailing the seas, or just sitting quietly by the fireside on a dark winter's evening. Others find it in prayer and meditation.
But to many, silence is alienating. They must fill every moment it seems with noise and movement.
Silence is though, so much more than the absence of noise. Silence is music asleep.
Find it and you will find that 'peace which passes all understanding'.

I am a silence person!! Well, man made silence. I love being out in the woods hearing the music that God created.
I must tell you, when we go to bed at night, we turn on a fan for the "white noise." Our dogs sleep with us, and they hear EVERY sound and then go into a barking frenzy. We have learned to muffle the outdoor sounds (or the creaking house) by having the fan on. When we've gone camping and it is totally silent at night, we find we are unable to sleep. (Except that it's not totally silent....because there are always outside noises and the voices of other people talking).
By the way, I'm almost positive you were "following" before now. So you didn't have a senior moment.
Hugs,
Patti
