It's only natural that in childhood we expect a large amount of outside assistance to help us realise our dreams. But I wonder how many of us carry this idea through into our adult lives?
Sometimes it's all too tempting to blame our failures on the shortcomings of others, rather than admit our own lack of effort.
As St. Augustine pointed out,
''God provides the wind, but man must raise the sails.''
So let's heed these words, plot our course with faith, and cast off with courage.
We may not all reach the destination we aim for but at least, we can be sure that we won't make our journey unaided.
