Summer is in full bloom. Corey wanted to go out at 5am. and the sun was already up and brilliant.
I wandered outside with him barefoot in the grass. Everywhere was quiet and peaceful and I stood and breathed in the beauty of my roses. Yellow, apricot, pink and deep red. They are all in full flower. There are hundreds of blooms on the red one over an archway. The rosebed is awash with colour and the new climbing rose from my children for our anniversary is established and climbing already. Big soft pink blooms with a gorgeous smell. So many roses bred nowadays don't have that wonderful perfume. A heavenly start to my day.

I went to see my grandchildren yesterday, home from their little holiday. I always took Ashton a 'picnic', a couple of pretty biscuits and a little chocolate car or coin. Just something to unwrap and think he had got a 'treat'. Now Skyela has turned one year old, she is ready for a 'picnic' too. She knows what's edible and tucked in with gusto! That child is ever smiling! Lovely to see them all
