If those lips could only speak...

I guess you're not as old as me so may not know the old song....
If those lips could only speak
And those eyes could only see.
And those beautiful golden tresses
Were there in reality.
Could I only take your hand
As I did when you took my name.
But it's only a beautiful picture
In a beautiful golden frame.

Old romantic that I am, I love those old songs and they often
give ideas for a collage.

Find Peace..

I thought this was a lovely quote so it started there
I don't feel like this I may add, I think I've found my peace within.

For You..

It is impossible for me to send all my friends a card so I'm
posting this for you.
Thank you all for your love and messages, especially these
last months. For your appreciation of my art, for your wonderful
friendship and for including me in this great blogland community.
I wish you and yours every blessing for this coming Christmas
and good health and fortune in the coming New Year.
It's a privelege knowing you all.

*******
A class of six year olds were preparing for their Christmas Nativity play. To get them thinking, the teacher asked them to draw ideas as to how this scene should be presented.
Young Mike drew a lovely picture with Joseph as a carpenter, surrounded by loads of tools, including an electric drill.
The teacher looking at it said  'It's excellent Mikie, but there was no electricity in those days'.
Mikie responded with..'That's alright Miss, it's a cordless one'.

As fits the holy Christmas birth
Be this. good friends, our carol still....
Be peace on earth, be peace on earth
To men of gentle will.

Surely this reflects the true spirit of the season...Peace on earth, a wonderful wish for the world.
It was written by William Makepeace Thackeray, the Victorian novelist and journalist, whose enduring classics  'Vanity Fair' and 'Pendennis' sit on our bookshelves.
Oh to carry this thought throughout the whole year.....

My Fur Baby..

Here he is, my gorgeous fur baby...COREY.
I've had him since he was a tiny ball of fluff and that was 10 years ago.
He looks as if butter wouldn't melt but his ferocious bark will see off
anyone who looks the least bit threatening to his Mum. Me.
It's been his job to protect me and the home all his little life
and he takes his job very seriously.
I've  had Chihuahuas almost 50 years and used to breed them,
but this is the only one who could sit up and beg!
My daughter Sally has two tiny smoothies, such sweeties.
I thought you might like to see my lovely boy.

Three Muses Challenge..Flowers..

The snow just won't go and this morning it's still freezing hard!
So I was glad to do this challenge of Flowers for Three Muses this week.

So Cold...

There was such a hard frost this morning and it's now starting to
freeze again. I'm having a job keeping my feet warm!
So I've made a couple of 'cold' pictures.
The top one has definitely been touched by Jack Frost's  fingers
and the bottom one is another idea of a
Snow Queen.

Hope you can all keep warm if you're in a colder climate.
If it's hot where you are, wrap some up and send over please.

The Christmas Rose..

A great deal of story and legend is attached to plants. It is said that when the Magi, the three Wise Men from the East, arrived with their precious gifts for the Christ Child of gold, myrrh and frankincense, a poor shepherdess called Madelon was standing outside the stable. She was in tears for she had no gift for the baby Jesus.

An angel saw her tears, and gently brushed aside a soft blanket of snowflakes, to reveal white Christmas Roses tipped with pink, a perfect gift for the Christ Child.

Christmas Roses are beautiful flowers which bloom and brighten our gardens in the cold and darkness of mid-winter.

And did you know it's a fact that almost all Polar Bears are born on or around Christmas day.
They're barely larger than the length of a human thumb.
Think of them this Christmas, beginning their lives amid the Arctic ice, such fragile bundles of white at the heart of the Winter storms.

I was browsing yesterdayand found this wonderful Kitty.
Isn't she just gorgeous? She was painted by Ruth Sanderson.
Immediately I saw her opening her locket to show her love I thought
'Ah!  Kismet!   This is my beloved'.
So I hope you like her.
